5'8", 220. I hit my leg on the turn signal stock almost everytime I get on the machine. Reaching down on either side for either the 3-pt controls or the tans range lever on the left, they are too close for my liking. I think the seat is biased a little to the left as I don't have any problems seeing the 3-pt controls but I'm up against the range lever. It's just a straight line movement but it is somewhat easy to move the lever mid-point between gears. The parking brake lever is behind my lower left leg.

Wishing things were not so compact.

Here is some info you may find useful. With nothing but me in the saddle, my machine tips the scale at 3900#, 2140# on the front and 1760# on the rear. Yep, the front axle load is greater than the rear.

To get an idea of size, here is a pic with me in the saddle.

Mickey,
I was not aware that the F-series had a separate creep range. My F22D had 3 ranges and three forward gears making it 9 forward speeds and 3 reverse. Am I missing something? Is there a separate lever that engages a Creeper range

Yep, at least on mine. Located outboard and next to the pto shift lever. Moves up/dn.

the creeper was an option. Also I have only seen it on the FX models, doesn't mean it wasn't an option on the F series also. The creeper also splits all the ranges it's not just one range.

Runningbird,
thanks for the info, looks like Mickey's has an added option. Mine has the slot for the lever but no lever for the creep range.

Reviving an old thread to ask a couple of FX24D questions.

I went to look at a FX24D today and have questions for you good people.

Firstly it appears to have 4 PTO speeds, it that right ?

Also it has a lever just by the linkage raise/lower lever that has 18 positions, all of it is in Japanese, anyone have any idea what this is for ?

It has the UFO joystick, which has two knobs by it, what is the purpose of these ?

It looks to be a sturdy and potentially useful tractor, I am 6' 2'' and not skinny and it was just right for me. All in good order with the usual paint fading and plastic cracking, especially the UFO control base.

Would be an ideal compliment for my YM186D to do jobs requiring a bit more power, ploughing, rotavating, log splitting etc.

3 or 4 PTO speeds, don't remember anymore, but the PTO tach is most useful. Using the tach, you can use any of the PTO speeds to keep within speed range of implement while taking advantage of engine power at appropriate speed. In the end, only used multiple PTO speeds when tilling. I never used my UFO controls except to tilt implements on 3Pt and after electronics burned out replaced the control with a second hydraulic valve.

I did build a FEL for it. Most useful implement I had.

Loved the tractor. Engine went after sucking down a valve. Sold it and a couple of implements to a machinist.
