Galvanized stock tank as a small pool

Paint the tank... rounddup won't hurt paint.. If those are the 'bright zinc' tanks.. they take paint well. If they are the hot or double dipped.. then not so well.

I was wondering about painting it.

This is the tank I bought:
6ft round x 2ft deep stock tank from TSC

This tank will only be on the ground for the rest of this season.
I plan to reinforce a section of the back deck for it to sit on.
I'll store it up off the ground for the winter.

I have the 6' x 2' x 2' oblong tank from tsc. mine was bright zinc and painted easilly.

What are you going to use as a filtration system on the "pool"? Without salt treatment or chemical treatment they can become quite the health hazard. :thumbsup:

if he paints it.. he could do pretty much anything.. chlorine.. hydrogen peroxide.. salt.. etc..

Probably a little late this year so next year a couple of weeks before you are ready to set up the galvanized pool tank, do your weed spraying a little heavier than usual and you should be good for the rest of the summer. If your tank has been hot dipped as opposed to electro plated you will be better off as to chemical contact.

Someone gave me a 12ft round pool last summer just to get rid of it. I brought it home and set it up, filled it with water, and 3 days later one of the seams split and it collapsed. I kept the pool filter system.
I'm using the pool filter with the stock tank. Just hang the hoses over the side. After it was primed it works great. We pour about a cup of bleach in the water every day. If the water gets bad we can just empty it and fill it back up with clean water.
