The reason a new tank was installed is because the old one lies within the boundaries of where the addition will sit. This is going to be a rather long project. Had to wait for my help to recuperate and now rain and cold are going to be against us. This picture is of a stepped footer. I have ~2 feet of grade change to contend with.

28 ft. x 28 ft. x 30" footer concrete got poured without a picture /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif avg. 8" thick. Should have made the building larger, but I would have had to either put in a sewage pumping station with alarms (yuck) or redo the entire drain field. So, we split the difference and agreed on this size.

Looks like neither rain, sleet or snow will slow you down!!!

Is the dirt in the middle part of the fill for when you have the walls built up?

What will you use to compact your fill before pouring your floor?

Thanks for the photo's, I'm enjoying it.

Rain isn't so bad to work on some stuff, except moving dirt. Had my doubts when the new tank showed up, it was pouring down. The truck waited until it let up. Sleet and snow are what I was trying to get ahead of. Yes, that dirt is part of my backfill. Will either use the small TLB or break out the plate compactor. Our local red clay compacts nicely in 6" or smaller lifts.

After some slight delays, backfilled, compacted, added 4" of compacted gravel, vapor barrier, wire and forms for apron/approach were added.
