garage/workshop

I built a 24 x 24 garage last year. I went with a stick-built on a block foundation but my father has a Morton building that could swallow my garage whole. They're all nice to have. I carefully chose the size based on what I was going to put inside. Not sure what you own already or what you plan on buying, but consider the height of the overhead door versus your ROP if you own a tractor. I put fluorescent lights, a bunch of receptacles, and a ceiling fan up high to move the heat around in the winter and to create a breeze in the summer. A couple small windows and an entry door and I was good to go. I was able to clean out my attached garage to make room for opening the car doors without denting them on the wheelbarrow, lawnmower, etc. I also filled it up with some nice toys after surfing this site for a while. Life is good. Post some pictures when you get going on it. We like the pictures.

I priced out a Morton building, and would up building a stick built garage for a little less money. The benefit in stick built was that it matches our house. Momma likes that.

Hi,
Check out "herkypilot"s thread on his pole barn. He went to a www called DIY pole barns and bought one. DIY also coordinated the builder "CHA" with good results. other members have also spoke well on both those groups. After checking out Morton's prices I built my own. I never built anything like it before but there is a wealth of info in this site.
