Way to go there, Hud. I just bet that where there is one coon, there are gonna be more of those little boogers hiding in the woods. We had several destroying our corn and then our melons last year when it was so hot and dry here. This year, we have not had any problems nor even seen any coon tracks in our garden...yet. Our old dogs did take care of a cottontail rabbit that got caught in our fence. My wife laughed at them and said they were too old and too slow to have caught the rabbit any other way. Normally they only catch skunks.
Hope you get some rain soon. I counted half a dozen little tomatoes on my plants last night, so it won't be long before we are dining on our own goodies. I may have to give that cayenne pepper-tomato sandwich a try.
JC-jetro: Wow! Your small beds are really productive. I have a friend at work who does the same thing with wooden fence to let cucumbers and melons grow in his back yard. I'll have to show him your pictures of your cattle panels. That's a great idea for using limited space. You just have to be careful that one thing doesn't shade another. I'm putting up some old fencing for trellises today, so I'll try to take some pictures. I guarantee you mine won't look anywhere nearly as neat as yours.
