As you all know, the new EPA mandated fuel cans are designed to spill fuel down your leg and over the outside of your vehicle. I could never figure out what the advantage is to this, but here is good old American ingenuity on how to make them usable.

I spect any auto parts store wouyld have em.

Any auto parts store should have them. I think that Walmart even has them. It is just a standard valve stem for a tubeless tire. I picked up a couple at Orielly auto parts. I think the ones that I used are 1in long.

Thanks, Mike. Already done that using a shorter valve stem that was the metal bolt on fit type. I hope the diesel doesn't dissolve the rubber interface with the container(over time that is). At 80 years old and 145 lbs, lifting 5 gallons of diesel is getting to be quite a chore. So the alterations make it go better. I also use a two foot tall stool to prop the jug on my leg on while filling.... works good rotating stored gasoline that's moved into my truck too. Mike oldballs

There are a number of youtube videos on the subject, all a variation on the same theme. Apparently lots of folks have trouble with the inane EPA compliant designs.

I've spilled more in a few years with the EPA cans because they don't seal tight on the tube than I did in the rest of my life. And I always capped my old cans so I doubt much evaporated. Faulty design that does the opposite of what it is supposed to do.

Are you referring to the EPA in general or just the gas can
