I firmly believe corporate greed is the biggest cause of high prices. Did you ever check out the salaries and perks of some of the top brass at some of these companies. But I know for a fact that the Ashland Oil refinery in Ashland KY has been down for some time due to several major problems. My son-in-law's father is a pipe fitter there and he has been working 10-12 hour days solid with a day off every 2-3 weeks (avg.) since last Dec. I have heard that there are some other refineries down in this country also. I can't say that it's not a price gouging tactic by the oil industry, but at the Ashland plant they are spending an awful lot of money to get back in production. Guess what that will do to the prices. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
By the way, in my area of western Ohio, regular is $1.67-1.75, and diesel is about the same. And the price goes up here every Thursday without fail also. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
