Does anybody here run Gator Blades on their CC?
I was talking to the salesman the other day and was ordering an extra set of blades for the 2544, he asked me if I had considered Gator Blades. He says they cut down on the dischage coming from under the deck as they are supposed to cut the clippings several more times during the cutting process.
Seriously considering ordering a set of these.
Input appreciated!

I can promise you that they are well worth the little extra $ (sometimes they are about the same price as CC blades). They cut the grass up much finer, plus they are available for everything CC makes from the S series push mowers to the M72 Tank. Go ahead and get a set, you will like them.

Hi Go to http://mowproducts.itcstore.com/
they have regular and Gator Blades for tons of mowers .and their prices cannot be beat! I have them on my CC1863 3 blade 54" cut and they work great. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

We sell hundreds of gator blades a year, they work great. I have them on my personal mower also.

I'm a little curious about this /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif The gator blades I have looked at are for CC models prior to 2001 (re: 759-3812 & 742-3002) They are 15-1/8" long. My 2544 (2005 model) uses the 759-3939 blade, which is 15.94". This is a difference of 3/4" length overall. This adds 3/4" more gap between the mounted blade ends from standard. Seems to me that you are inviting two strips of un-cut areas, which will increase as the blades wear down ??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

There are gator blades avialable for all model CC...that includes all 2005 models. Just ask your dealer and if he can't help then I sure can!

Are you sure they are out for all models? I haven't found some for a few... more specifically, the LT1042 model, for one instance.

I just got an answer back from gatorblade. com concerning a blade for the new model 2544. Quote: " We do not currently offer a Gator Blade for your Cub Cadet tractor. Thank you for your interest though. gatorblade.com" You can buy the blade for the 48" mower. It is 16-17/32" long and grind off 1/4" from each end. Everything else is the same (center hole, width etc). /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The same thing basically happened to me. I E-Mailed Mow Products about Gator Baldes and they replied and told me that for the 2544, Gator Baldes were a dealer product. So now I'll contact the dealer and find out if in fact they do have them available and how much they are for a set.

I checked a couple months ago for gator blades. They emailed me back and said to check back in November when their new catalog is done.
