Tractor
bx-23 ,
My neighbor really liked my bx ,cab and blower, and decided shed like a dedicated snow tractor[already has several large tractors].She wanted a front blower though,so i told her to buy B3030 cabbed with front kubota blower.
Well she did and has had issues with it from the get go.First storm 5 minutes in blows a hose .Finishes with the old plow truck til dealer can come:(Second storm fuse blows loses gauges and lights-then wont start:( ,finishes with truck again.Dealer comes changes fuse to bigger:confused:Big storm fuse blows again:confused2:finishes with truck, and i help with my blower and blade. They come get it [i think] and fix it. SATURDAY shes blowing snow ,fuse blows again!!Dealer comes slips in the ditch and has to be hauled out by a NEW HOLLAND :mad::mad:Says he cant haul it on his trailer cause its too much tractor[2-3500lb axles:confused:]COMES BACK TODAY AND PICKS IT UP-SAME TRAILER,SAME TRUCK.
She also dont like the fumes coming in the cab through the controls, making her sick:(Idid a search on here and told her to set er heater for fresh air[suppose to help so i read]
Ifeel terrible she spent all that money and is having such a bad time.

Dealer needs to fix the problem not just replace a fuse. Find out why it blew... I talked a friend into a backhoe... that he never uses. Who's the dumb one :confused2: Free advice, you did the best you could with the knowledge that you had... (and it didn't sound too like bad advice to me).

Can the muffler be re-routed out the back?

Your advice was based on your experience, so it was honest advice. If you had had terrible experiences with Kubota and recommended that brand anyway, THAT would be bad advice.

Hopefully things will get straightened out and it will give her many years of good service.

That's a great setup you recommended. Unfortunate but certainly not your fault that there were issues. Hopefully it will get worked out to everyone's satisfaction.

Sounds like the real problem here is the dealer not the advice.

Iknow electrical stuff can be hard to trace especially since they have multiple items on a curcuit.Hope the technician is competant
Dont know ,i was thinking a stack.Mabey a 3030 owner could chime in.
Big snow coming wednesday ,i hope they iron it all out for her ,If not my SUPER BX will help:laughing:'Here i come to save the day"
All kidding aside i really like the tractor, wife told me i could upgrade.Im perfectly content with mine ,i wouldnt want to take that shiney glassed in rig down an atv trail like i do with mine...it wouldnt be pretty long

Give her some advice, find a new dealer. If a dealer put a larger fuse to solve a problem then I would be calling Kubota and giving them an ear full. That's just incompetent.

I agree that it seems like she needs a new dealer.Putting larger fuse's is not the answer for sure.I'm fairly sure the fume problem can be solved also at a good local dealer. Some times a couple dollars saved in purchase can be expensived down the road. Do you know the dealer?

I think if you had advised your friend to buy a Belarus or a Lada or a Scoda that is what would be classified as Bad Advise.
As far as the machine goesI would suggest that the dealer not return it until it is fixed and the source of the circuit problem found, and a FREE loaner put in its place.

I'm wondering if the fuse and the fumes are related. Putting in a larger fuse will allow more amps through small wires, burning the insulation, let alone the components on that circuit. I don't know about laws there in Maine, but here in Wyoming, if a vehicle, including tractors, has been repaired by the dealer for the same problem three or more times within the first year, you can return the vehicle for a full refund, or exchange it for another. I'm wondering about that mechanic. If it were me and I really liked the tractor despite the problems, I would return it and go to another dealer to buy all over again. I wish her luck!!
