I got a news flash... headquarters is watching too... duh... how many dealers are in western Maine?

So this dealer had the same thing happen... and his reply is the same? I'm not that smart but you can test the switch, right?

I'm on my third winter with the B3030HSDC and second with the front mount blower, zero issues electrical or otherwise.
My money is on a damaged wire that gets rubbed when the snowblower is being used, lifted/lowered, hydraulic controls being operated. Start with anything near what the dealer installed and work out from there.
Ask your neighbour to try to note, should it happen again, exactly what controls were being used at that moment or if it seemed like the tractor had been running about the same length of time as before. That should help narrow down the cause. I think a detailed inspection of all the wiring with a good light would be time well spent.
Are there any other accessories besides the snow blower that the dealer installed?

So the headliner has been down, lots of wires up there. When I put the rear work lights on mine I had to be quite careful of the wiring when I put the headliner back up.
I'm not at home right now or I would go check my manual for the wiring diagram. Sure hope what your neighbour thought was exhaust smell wasn't wiring in the headliner getting cooked by an oversize fuse.

SEE THE RIG BACK IN THE DRIVE TONIGHT.Wife just contacted her, they "couldnt make the tractor blow a fuse at the dealership":(They claim they had another 3030 with an electrical problem, and it turned out to be the safety switch on the HST.So not really knowing all they did was give her a new hst safety switch:confused2::confused2:Did i mention it was lights and instrument panel and starting that was not working?I got a feeling her problems arent over yet:eek:Sounds like instead of looking for a short, they are just throwing parts and guessing.Id be demanding a different tractor if it was mine if it happened again
By the way i got a good idea this dealer is following this post.WHAT GIVES IS IT HARD TO FIND COMPETENT HELP?Ive had good luck with you folks in the past, whats changed?

Several years ago a co-worker had a fuel problem with his Kubota. When he called the dealer they just dragged their feet because he was a good 25 miles away. After bring it up here the dealer had several customers come in and comment that they had read it. I never mentioned the name or location but there are only so many dealers around here. They finally came out and got the tractor. The guy's a 5th gen farmer who spent $30k on a new tractor.

I hope the dealer is reading this and will tell his side. I just can't see how they would justify putting the wrong size fuse unless they were told by Kubota that it was OK to do so. It sounds like they just don't want to do the hard work of finding the problem the first time.

Most dealers are great, some are....well that's another story. I bought my used B26 18 months ago and I didn't have seven hours of seat time before a hose going to the BH started leaking like a sieve. I called my dealer expecting a run around since my home is 100 miles from his lot and this was a used machine.

The only thing he asked if it was OK to wait till the next day to send his tech :D.

The tech came by exactly on time and found a stone had lodged up under a skid plate and simply wore a hole in the hose. He replaced the hose with one with a higher rating, topped up the hydraulic fluid and even adjusted the hand brake. I'd bought a G1800 from them years ago and was really happy with their service then.

The dealer's name: Carrierre & Poirier in Alfred Ontario

I agree most dealers are great. I bought my BX24 at one dealer who has been awesome with me in every way I need. However due to where I live (300+ miles away), I have another dealer who I have bought a couple of implements from who has done all of the warranty work and has went to bat for me with the reginal rep to get out of warranty parts replaced. As this is my first tractor, I had a ton of questions and knew sooner or later I was going to break something :( Both dealerships were just what I needed. :)

Sound Tractor in  Everett, Wa is where I bought my tractor from. Adams Tractor  in Spokane, Wa is where I have had 95% of the work (both service and warranty) done. Sorry ( kinda ;) ) about plugging their dealerships.

Now back to the reason of this thread. It sounds like the local dealer needs to go back to service school. There is NO WAY recomending a Kubota could be misconstruded as "GIVING ROTTEN ADVICE"
