The shelters are a great idea, but the neighbors would hate me even more if I put one of those in the yard. At the cabin it would be nice, but not as secure as I'd like.

I have a 20 x 40 with a 14' hight and it is about 10 years old. It has held up well in the past, but a couple of years ago, one of the heat sealed seams opened. That is the only problem with it that I have ever had. If the new ones are as good as the old ones, then it would be great. If the new ones have material made outside of the US, then I guess that they won't hold up as well... just like everything else made over seas...

After several years I, too, had a seam break in the coverit I have over my spa. Had to use a blue tarp as a bandage for most of last winter. I am not so agressive about removing snow from it now, unless we get a large snowfall. You would probably need to replace the cover every 7-10 years but you can buy the cover only, and they were fairly cheap.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Woke up this morning to almost whiteout conditions and about 20" of snow on the ground. It didn't stop falling until about 3:00 this afternoon. Once the snow stopped I got out the BX23 and started in on clearing up the snow. I keep the tractor in one of those temporary garage structures in my backyard and just to get to the driveway I have to clear a path. That was when I first got stuck - I have a pretty narrow area I can get thru to the driveway that has holes on both sides, and the snow was so deep I got one of the rear wheels off into the hole and darn tractor wasn't going anywhere. The tractor was high sided on the ground and the rear tire that was in the hole was just spinning in the snow. I finally managed to get the tractor out by using the factory jack from our Volkswagen Passat to jack up the side of the tractor that was stuck and get a board under it. That gave me enough traction to back the BX out of the hole. )</font>

Did you try lifting the wheel that was in the hole with the
outrigger on that side and placing a plank or something under that wheel.?

If you check out his pics, you'll see that the backhoe is off and he has a rear blade on instead.

If the backhoe was on, he probably could've used the hoe to lift and pivot the back end of the tractor out of the hole in the first place. As I've found with my B2910 and Woods hoe, a backhoe generally is no where near as helpful in winter as a rear blade. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The temporary garage that I got was a "Cover-It" . They are located in CT - I bought direct from them. If I remember correctly the garage kit itself was $399 and shipping was around $75. They had two styles - the $399 version had more tubes than the $299 version and you can get either version in a round style or house style. You can see their webpage right here - I used the toll free number and they were pretty helpful but a little bit like used car salesmen. Overall the garage has been pretty good - when I bought it I got it with 6 hold downs that screw into the ground - we have gotten some pretty high winds this winter - 60-75mph gusts - that took down tree limbs and power lines and such - and it didnt seem to affect the garage at all. Snow tends to blow in around the edges but it was better than the alternative which for me was leaving it out in the elements. I got the 12x20x8 size which was big enough for me to park the BX23 with FEL and the rear blade attached and still have space for the box blade, the backhoe unit, and my lawn roller, with a decent amount of space left over. Keeping the tractor out of the elements for event one season is worth the money to me especially considering how much snow we have gotten this winter.

Forgot to mention setup - It took me a day to get it setup, but I wasnt working too hard. I needed some help just to get some of the framing up and get the cover pulled over the frame but overall it wasn't too bad. Biggest pain was that some of the tubes are just slide fit into each other and when you are trying to get the whole frame together they tend to want to come apart - I ended up just wrapping the joints in duct tape to hold them together while I was doing the assembly.
