GC 2300 mf 2350 loader parts

Mine broke in a spot that did not take kindly to welding, which is why I bought the part and why I have the part number. It came from Jack's a a year ago. The price has dropped since I purchased. Price is for the metal rod, nut and lockwasher only. The knob unscrews and gets reused.

My son broke my control handle and ordered a new one before he talked to me. I would have told him to go the 8mm bolt welded onto the shaft route. But now I have the replacement shaft so I figured what the heck, I'll put i on. I can't get the darned knob to unscrew. How did yours come off? I was thinking about heating the shaft up a bit to see if it would start to unscrew. I assume they have some sort of thread lock on the knob to keep it from loosening up but this won.t budge and I am afraid of cracking the knob if I reefe on it too much. I have tried a pipe wrench on the knob and vise grips on the shaft but it hasn't even started to budge. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Stan

Take a look at my pic on the previous page with the rod in my hand -- yep, it's threaded on both ends, so the knob should unscrew. I think you're right about the thread-locker on it.

BTW-- just went out to look, and --amazing!-- my weld repair is still holding! :cool2: (Still have the spare, too, apparently...)

PS -- Ray-- STILL going on the OEM battery....
