GC series How many run front chains?

/ GC series How many run front chains? #21
I have a 6 speed craftsman with a snow blade, 2 WD, and I had to use front chains on that because the front tires would not spin without them, and caused the front wheels to push huge piles of snow in front of the front wheels, which made it impossible to move forward, the chains allowed the front tires to spin, and ride over the snow!!..

I did not realize a 2wd with chains on the non-drive wheels had any benefit except for stopping, but now I know more.

yup won't plow snow in front of tires and will turn unit when needed. IMO the tires like posted better than chains for that application as can run year round.

grr chains arrived today way too big. they say 18-8.5x10 but would have had to remove 6-8" length on sde chains (easy to do) but would have had to remove 2 links on each cross chain. not so easy.
Amazon.com : The ROP Shop | Pair of 2 Link Tire Chains & Tensioners for Snow Blowers, Lawn & Garden Tractors, Mowers & Riders, UTV, ATV, 4-Wheelers, Utility Vehicles (18x8.5x1, with Tensioners) : Garden & Outdoor
any recommendations for direct fit that are around that price point?
I did measure tire (yes it says 18-8.5x10 on it) and actual width (r4 tire) edge of lug to edge of lug is 7 inches.
