Pretty nice, man. I was on fence between this or ratchet rake, went with the rake. Theres a dude on YouTube I follow has a piranha bar, did some real nice grading with it, was just shaving off thin layers of soil to get the right pitch.

As I get the Sumac cleared up I have noticed if I work the FEL I can shave off the top soil but it is so uneven that when one of the front tires drops into a low area one of the corners dig in and you really need to work it that is why I wish the FEL valve worked in the 1-2 and 4-5 movement not just 12-6-3-9, tilt-level-drop-raise all in one smooth motion but hay I am getting it figured out, was a little discouraging at first but slowly and surly I am getting it done.

I'm too new at working a tractor to be giving advice, but I'm thinking your plan to use box scraper with scarifiers to level, not bad idea. I used the ratchet rake along those lines, just scraping dirt into the low spots, back and forth I went. Not perfect smooth, but definitely now good enough to seed for grass in my yard.

The YouTube dude with the piranha bar, he's also on a gc1710. He's got a lot of interesting vids, Louisiana Tractorworks, check him out.

I just replayed in the deadheading hydrostat thread what i am going to do with the box blade, I will start with one scarifier tooth down in first position and work my way up to using all 4 teeth, going to see how far I can go in turtle-fwd-2200-2400 rpm and R4 tires, it is like a mud clay due to all the rain so those R4 tires get good traction, they really grab and stick, it is hard to get the tires to just spin.

OK I got to ask a question. When digging that rock out did you have a counter weight on the back? I have never had a loader so I am learning as I go and I have had my back tires off the ground a couple of times. I got some ideas on here about building a DIY box with concrete to weight the back down. I got my piranha bar last week but have not mounted it yet but did not want to do much clearing until I get a counter weight built. Also complicating my use is hills. Most of the brush clearing is on the side of a hill so I will definitely need to make certain I am approaching from below and that I have a counter weight.

I only had my box blade on for counter weight, that rock was flush with the ground, I got the Piranha bar in along side the rock and tilted the bucket up to pry it out, I was surprised at how big it was.

I have not built a regular counter weight yet but I do have a 3 point receiver hitch that I plan on using as a starting point then add some pvc tubes for rake and shovel and a bar guard for chainsaw, build a box and some rebar then add cement, here is my receiver I will build on.

No damage to a tooth on the bar, moving that rock? When I was clearing some stuff a little bit ago, I was worried about damaging the teeth on the ratchet rake when moving a boulder, so used the backhoe bucket for that instead.

I got my Piranha bar mounted today but just hit a few very small bushes for a quick try out. I am gonna buy a inexpensive 3pt receiver hitch and build a weight box before I do any heavy lifting.
