GC2300 - How Stable?

   / GC2300 - How Stable? #11
When I first got my 2300, I parked it on a side hill where I was just starting to feel uncomfortable. I got off it, got a friend, and then we both pulled on the roll bar to see how easy it would be to roll. Be careful if you try this, because it would be easy to roll the tractor onto yourself.

Bottom line was that it was easy to get a rear wheel to lift, but we never got the front wheel (uphill side) to lift and we were rocking the tractor pretty hard. This experiment convinced me that this particular side hill was more than safe to navigate.

I've been on some much steeper ones since. The tractor won't track in a straight line on them (back end is sliding down). It was a bit scary. But the slight angle uphill gives some stability. I suppose I should be more scared if the back end isn't sliding down a bit? I used to mow this side hill with a light JD riding mower all of the time, but I would ride with one "cheek" on the seat and the other off, and lean big time. I don't feel like I can lean that much with the MF - particulary with the seat belt on.
