Made a search for my specific question regarding these two models but cold not find anything so I decided to post to get some answers...My first question the BX as RPM of 3200.. GC at 2600 RPM does this mean the BX is louder at full throttle...Second question hydraulics pump output BX 5.5 GC 6.1 gpm what is this for, and is there an advantage here toward the GC... My third question is the PTO horsepower, GC as a slight advantage.. My question is do you have to operate at full throttle to achieve full PTO power.. I think both brand are good in one way or another, I'm not looking for a brand war or insult anybody and if I forgot something that could be important to mention please don't hesitate to mention it... By the way I won't be mowing any grass with ether one of these model's. Loader, BH , 3pth snow blower work on the Island.. Over a year of search and close to pulling the trigger if everything goes well with the wife..I did how ever promise the Kioti dealer a second look at is models but weight is an issue with kioti ...cag

My first thought was if you are not cutting grass...perhaps something slightly larger than the BX or GC might be worth considering...

From what I understand...in the end there is not too much difference between these two tractors...

Myself, I would consider something larger since one of the things I don't really like much about my BX is the 3PH is on the small side and the ground clearance is lacking a bit. Also there are things down under that can be damaged...more than what my larger Kubota has exposed down there.

Just a thought. I will let those more familiar with the two tractors answer your specific questions... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

By the way, if you are NOT worried about cutting grass, and want to do tractor work, the weight of the Kioti would be considered an advantage by a lot of people.

I guess if your not mowing why is weight an issue? Personally I think with what your doing you would welcome the weight. The sub-compacts are a good all around tractor if you throw in mowing. I had a class one that I did loader work with and was very disspointed in it and ended trading it in for a class ll tractor and I mow with it. Your money will go a lot farther in a larger tractor. If it was me I would at least check some of the larger ones out. And don't be afraid to go with a Kioti if price is a determining factor.

Henro, I agree the weight could be positive but not so when considering I have to cross this thing on a barge.. I guess I could always make a bigger barge... As for kioti, the ck20 tlb weight is around 3600 lbs and when I start getting in that weight range "MAN" I start to flirt with the idea of the B3030 tlb at around 3700 lbs.. I drool just thinking about it. That is a fine looking tractor as you know this will replace the b2910. I read most of your posts and actually thought that 60 inch FEL was better than a 54 until I saw some of your pics of the tractor between trees. After reading about it, I would definitely choose the 54 over the 60 if this was an option to me... I do have a question for you regarding the b2910, is this a model that can be easily flipped over and the reason I ask is because a friend of mine says he got rid of his due for this reason and does the b3030 have the same dimension as the b2910? Maybe this has been answered before, I'm not sure, thanks...cag

Cag,

The truth of the matter is that just about any tractor with a loader can be easily flipped over, if the loader bucket is full (or maybe even empty) and raised high, while the operator turns sharply, or has a tire fall in a hole...EVEN ON FLAT GROUND!

That being said, I don't think the B2910/3030 are excessively tip-over prone. I have had mine in situations that were not comfortable and it stayed upright. My tires are all loaded though, liquid in the back and foam in the front.

From what I understand the B3030 is VERY close in demensions to the B2910, enough probably to be considered identical for practical purposes.

My personal feeling is that it is hard to measure or evaluate how easy or prone a certain tractor is to tipping over, without pushing it to the limits and tipping it over once or twice as a learning experience.

So I would ask your friend how many times he actually had that B2910 on its side. If the answer is never, then he was simply acting on a feeling, not fact, when he got rid of it.

I can tell you that while I believe my B2910 is very stable on slopes, I do not feel comfortable sideways on a 20 degree measured slope. Measured meaning I took my carpenter level, tape measure and actually measured rise over run, and did the math.

My little BX, also with loaded tires, foam in the front and liquid in the rear, and MMM hanging under it, feels VERY stable and indeed lets me turn a circle on a 20 degree slope without turning my pants brown inside...

Part of the problem may be that the seat on the larger tractor is higher, and it feels different from what we may be used to in the cars/truck we normally drive. In any event, without the experience of tipping a given tractor over a couple times, I don't put much faith in the feeling I get...other than being thankful that it feels dangerouse before it probably is...which keeps me on the planet longer than I might be otherwise!

I agree with the others that you should at least look into the larger compacts.

As far as the 2 sub compacts you mentioned, the higher hyd. pump output of the GC means a little stronger, smoother operation of the backhoe and loader. The higher PTO hp helps with things like post hole diggers, tillers, etc. On paper, the GC seems to be a slightly better unit. But I don't know how it stacks up in reality, as I wasn't able to ever see one last year when I was tractor shopping. I use a BX22 regularly, and I think it is a great little machine, although the sub compact backhoe has its limitations - you just have to learn how to work around those limitations. It takes a bit more time to do some backhoe jobs, but it is a very handy tool, and has convinced me that once I no longer have the use of that BX22, I'll be buying the Woods Groundbreaker backhoe for my machine /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif, unless I decide to trade up to a larger compact to handle a larger property (or properties). /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Bandit I look at the larger compact in the past and you are probably right.. I definitely don't want to be under power with a sub cut and I don't say this to insult anybody..I did receive a phone call from the kioti dealer today and he said he's got a CK gear coming in next week I wanted to try that one out.. I got the chance a couple of week's ago to try out the HST model and they are fine tractors .. I haven't ruled out the B3030... I have to admit I'm confuse but I'll sort things out... My wife got her new car today so this should make it easier to convince her on how important a tractor is /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif thanks for the reply...cag
