Comparison GC2610 or 1526?

I agree The 1526 is quite a bit bigger?

Talked with MF dealer last Thur ,about trading my 2305 on either the 1526 or sc2610 or 2410. Aroung the first of March I asked my JD dealer to give me a price difference between 1023r ,and my 07 2305 w/626 hrs ,fel, mmm,bh plus what's needed to use my 47 blower and front blade. He wanted 9000 different. If I kept my bh and just bought subframe ,,no difference in price..still 9000. He wanted 14000 difference if I bought the 2320... NO WAY!!
So I want to see what MF will offer me on trade but buying a new front blower and blade .

Yes I've had JD for 11 or 12 yrs but when it takes over 6 wks to give me a quote ,and only after writing an email to manager of dealer and to Pres of there company ,, Not sure JD really wants my business.l
Will have to say I seen a lot of things I liked on the MF compared to the JD.

I sold my older MF on my own. Got lucky on it as my insurance agent was looking for a small tractor. But you should try to sell you older tractor on your own if you can. You will come out ahead and then there is no gray areas between you and your dealer

I bought a GC2610TLB for use on a one acre property and am delighted with it, but would have preferred the next larger unit if there hadn't been such a big jump in price. My memory tells me another 4 or 5 thousand and then the cost of a hoe on top of that. I'd think that for 7 acres, the larger unit would be worthwhile if the cost is OK.

Haha. Gotta stir it up some. I run heavy equipment for a living and our excavator cat 345 will swallow up a 2410 in one bite. When I get off of it and go to a small hoe it makes you fill like you are on a tonka toy. No insults intended. Anything is better than a pick and shovel any day :). I wish I had a small hoe at times here at the house. I have no doubt they serve their purpose. Besides its a Massey :)

My dad has a CAT excavator and its big enough I can drive my GC2410 in the bucket. Problem is the machine is so big it costs a fortune to move it. 32 gallons plus of hydraulic fluid vs 2.7 gallons on the GC 2410 :) Very different machines yet my GC 2410 (or any sub compact\compact tractor) will run circles around the monster in capabilities and versatility. CATs cant mow lawns, hoe a garden, till, remove saplings or small stumps without making a huge mess, cant get close to your home, cant park it in the garage, cant dig 12" holes for posts, cant get 12 hours on a tank of diesel, cant plow snow-I think i'll stop there for now. Anyway-you get my drift-I'll take my sub compact over an escavator any day. If I ever have a big enough job where I need one I can rent it for a couple days :)

Thats true I forgot about the price of the backhoe on the larger units. 10 grand difference all together from the info I have.

Yup. There is a place for them both. I'd like to have that little fellow for planting a few trees. Always a use for them. Don't know yet if I could get a hoe for my 1526. And not positive I'd want for sure.

Yeah our excavator has a four yard bucket I think it is almost 5 feet wide and it uses enough diesel in one day to probably last me all year haha

my dealer told me they were not making the 1526 anymore does the 1526 have mid pto

I think maybe your dealer is confused with the 1523 and 1528.

Thanks for the pic of the 1526 beside the GC. I haven't been able to see a 1526 yet. Dealers around here haven't gotten one yet.

Maybe off topic, but: I am being strongly advised that a track hoe is a more useful machine than the tractor. Does anyone have an opinion?

Negative. Though I did see mowers are available as attachments.
I guess one gives up the FEL and ... What ... Make it up with a front hoe rather than back hoe? I don't get it.

It does have a mid pto and can take a mmm. Positive on that, can also take a front snow blower

Yeah they are still pretty new. It's hard to find one. Your welcome for the picture.

Oh. But watch that. The mid PTO is now an option. If you buy a mid mount mower make sure they include the mid mount as it is around $800 for the kit. My dealer said they were doing that on lots of tractors cause so many people don't use it.

Depends on what you are doing. They are limited from moving dirt long distances. You need a dump truck or loader. They can dig deeper and get into tighter places usually.

so the mmm is yes but no backhoe attachment
