I say go back and give them a chance. I have noticed over the years that employees that don't respect the customers tend to not last at businesses that do respect their customers.

I would go back and speak to the manager/owner. It sounds like they are really trying hard to do the right thing. One employee doesn't speak for the whole company, at least in this instance. The person who made the comment may be an otherwise good employee (or not) but I'll bet someone has spoken to him about what constitutes appropriate behaviour. I can't blame you for being upset but, the dealer is sure not happy about it and wants you to know that.

I agree 100%
Bob

Randy,
I with you feeling the way you because there is no "excuse" for that kind of behaviour when dealing with a customer. However, like many have said, I'd go there and let the owners make it up to you...looks like they're offering?

I had a recent pleasant experience. I went to my local (only) tractor dealer who sells Kobuta, MF and JD....definitely no Kama's Ha ha. I thought they would give me a ration of $h!t when I went to order a complete valve kit for the graplle attachment I'm installing. WR Long has them as one of their suppliers and Nelson Long told me to go there to buy the components. When he asked "what kind of tractor" and I told him, surprisingly he commented that he heard the Chinese were starting to make pretty good CUT's and asked me all about it. He never looked down his nose at me nor made any derrogatory remarks when he could have easily. Just a different attitude than displayed at your store, I guess.

Last... Soundguy...that list of yours...
Are you a doctor now? Is that your prescription for a "boob enhancement"?

I didn't go to the dealer but I called the contact info left with my dealer. I think I may have spoke with the lady that came out the door after me. She was very apologetic and upset that it happened in the first place. She did offer a 10% discount on the remote kit. I was also in there checking on the price of wheel weights to compare with my dealer, same price. Guess the young man helping before this all happened must have told her I was pricing wheel weights. She offered a better discount on a set of weights. My daddy didn't raise no dummy. LOL I took her up on her offer. I gave $201.18 including tax for the set I have now from my dealer. She going to sell me a set for $107.19 including tax. That's almost 50% off. They have them in stock so she set a set aside for me. I'll go in tomorrow and pick them up. She also told me someone esle will be apologizing to me when I come in, the worker that made the comment. Kinda glad he didn't get fired because it's no fun today in this economy to be looking for a new job. Who knows, he might have kids. So, overall everything worked out for the better and I'm happy and they are happy.

The taste of swallowed pride is a whole lot better than the taste of a bitter pill in your mouth.:)

That's pretty thin skinned for a wanna-be redneck.:D

To have a price, any price, is very hypocritical on your part. Everyone lets their mouths overload their brains on ocassion. Accept the apology and carry on. Life is short, enjoy it.:)

Another Boob here ~!!~

I'm sure there's boobs everywhere on this forum.

I think you did the right thing walking out. NOW you have to decide whether you will swallow your pride & possibly save some money. I'm sure the employee was severely reprimanded.

I would love to own a welder & be boob-less but just have too many competing priorities. Guess I will just have to remain fully boobed.

Great outcome. The appology acknowledges the 'wrong', and the discount makes up for it.

Mike in Pa,
I agree with you. There are different ways of looking at this situation.
In any case, their trying to make it right means they don't want to loose a valuable customer. (Not a friend, a customer) Unhappy customers that put themselves in a position to walk out without the parts they drove over to pick up, are usually the kind that costs them money in the long run. I know if I was unhappy enough to walk out without my very needed parts, I would probably tell every living soul I saw for the next 5 weeks. Redneck has done one better and told everyone with reading capabilities that might wonder thru this forumn. How much it is going to cost them is yet to be determined, if it ever is figured out.
I follow a very stubborn father. He not only would have walked out, but probably would have bought a full page ad in the next Sunday's paper. telling everyone what happened. David from jax
