Okay this one is gonna take a while, I started grinding this las month but got side tracked when the wife showed up with beer. 
I would normally take a stump like this down close to the ground with the chainsaw then grind it, but just for fun I'm going to see how long it takes, starting now.

You said you were going to see how long it took. So how long did that big one take ? According to your post times it was 36 minutes. Just curious. It does a good job.

Your right, it was pretty much 36 mins. I didn't actually time it because I was posting as I went, so aside from some slow internet service that took a minute or two to upload from my phone, the post times were right on.
The large pine really flared out at the bottom, right about ground level, so I repositioned quite a few times to grind the large portions of the roots. I'm trying to level off the area a bit so I have a good spot to put my sawmill. I still need to take down 3 trees and grind those stumps so I'll try to get some video when I do that.
A bit more power at my PTO (like double) would really make a difference in the speed, as well as how much of a bite I could take off in each pass.

What stump grinder do you have? Mine is a Shaver SC-25 and I am still learning how to be proficient with it -- mostly taking the right sized cut each swipe. When I'm not being too ambitious, it seems to work great.

It's the shaver sc-50. My tractor is about as small as I could get away with for this size stumpgrinder.
I have 39pto hp and it's rated for 35-100. I agave to be careful how much of a bite I take.

I posted this clip a few weeks ago -- one of my first stumps. I could use more HP too. My tractor is 33 pto HP and I bought the smaller stump buster.
