Howdy!

To all, and especially Spencer /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif, I'm trying to get a generalized idea of pricing on the TN tractors. My better half, who grew up on a large farm, wants a tractor with a cab for a number of reasons. I've gone and looked at the list pricing from the State of MN website, and that gives me a starting point. But, I'm looking for (3) additional pieces of information:

1. A good discount percentage. I see that MN gets a 31% discount. What's a "good" deal for the average buyer?

2. I see there are (4) loaders available -- the 32 and 33LA, as well as a version of each with mechanical self leveling. What are the list prices for these? $5,000+ ???

3. What are the current financing options on the TN tractors? I can't seem to find that anywhere.

With all that in hand, we're hoping to get a rough idea of where we would be at it we bumped up to a mid-size cab tractor.

Thanx & Best Regards,
Jay

A TN 65 with MFWD, 32LA loader and cab would be around $30k. The 32LA loader is for the standard front axel and the 33LA is for the Supersteer front axel. They are nice machines and NH does a great job of supporting their products if something should happen. Later

Wow!

That seems really cheap relative to the list price! What transmission are you talking about -- I've been leaning towards the 16x16 Elec. PowerShift.

Maybe I was putting too much value on the loader. I was figuring the list price between $4 - 5,000. Which brings up another point. I know that the 33LA is for the SuperSteer models [which I'm kind of kicking around], and the 32LA is for the standard 2WD and MFWD axles. However, in reviewing the specs, the MSL loaders are all over the board in terms of specs. In some regards, they're higher, and in others, they're lower. Care to offer an opinion on the standard vs. MSL loaders?

Anyway, interested to see Spencer's comments on pricing, also.

Thanx & Best Regards,
Jay

Robert,

Thats with an 8x8 tranny?
Or do they make any of the Ds anymore with 8x8s?
I think most of the D now come with 16x16s.

Also the number of remotes will effect the price.

Jay,

I have the 16x16 mechanical shuttle and I am very happy with it. I looked at the super steer but decided it was not worth the money. Maybe if you have a lot of tight turning in small spaces. However, the base machine without the supersteer will suprise you with how tight it will turn.

I also don't see the benifit of the MSL in proportion to the additional cost. My unit without MSL is fantastic. But get the quick attach!! I am not sure if you dealer offers any without it but its worth every little penny and then some. The cool thing about this is its bobcat compatible. So you can buy cheap bobcat attachments and use them with your TN! I have a set of forks which are very handy (see attached).

Also think about what you want to do with it. Keep in mind that all that glass will require you to run the AC. Not that this is a bad thing at all, but it sucks away about 5-10 hp depending on who you ask. So if you want to pull a bailer a TN55D is probably to small. Just want to mow and use the loader then any of them will work.

These are great machines!

Fred

I paid an grand extra for the MSL loader. You had to buy the MSL to get the quick attach when I bought my TN 65. The extra capacity is nice, you need all the extra capacity you can get. It works well with the forks, you don't have to remember to dump the bucket as you raise the lift. Although it's not recommended, it works well when you're raising someone on a platform, too. The guy on the platform doesn't have to dance around as the platform is tilting back and forth.

The more I hear on this board from you guys the more I realize that the dealers lie a lot. YOU NEVER HAD TO BUY MSL TO GET A QUICK ATTACH. The quick attach has always been available on both loaders.

Mine is an open platform standard model with the 8x8 shuttle. If I had added a cab it would have added around $5k to the top which is why I decided to go without. I plan on getting a TS or a TL with cab next year for convience of having two MFWD tractors that can pull my equipment around. The second one will not have a loader and mainly be used for plowing and disking as well as pulling a spreader as it is a pain to have to use the old Ford 4400 TLB to load the spreader when I have the wonderful joystick on the TN that could do the job in a fraction of the time but then I have to constantly hook and unhook. Either way $30k will be a close price for a MFWD tractor with loader and cab in the 50-55hp range.

As for preference on loaders I really can not comment. I have the standard 32LA with regular bucket and have no problems keeping the bucket level as I raise it. A lot of it has to do with being familiar with the equipment as the more hours you log on a particular piece will greatly increase your feel for how it handles and responds. I use the TN on a lot of our construction jobs and I have well over 100 hours of using just the loader. The standard loader has never ran into any problems nor have I ever wished I had a self leveling loader. On that same token I have never used the self leveling loader to know how it handles and if I ever did use one I might be sold on it for all I know. Try them both out and see how you like them as you will have to live with the decision. My only wish is I had the quick tach on it so I could use forks easier. Take care.

Howdy!

Thanx for all the replies. I was out of town and didn't get a chance to reply back, but appreciate all the comments. I'm still researching things right now, so we'll see what happens.

Best Regards,
Jay

Howdy:

Here were the "first pass" numbers from my dealer. You tell me if he's relatively on target or not...

All tractors equipped as follows: TND with cab/heat/AC & radio. FWD 11.2x24 front tires, 16.9x30 rear tires filled with methanol. Block heater, 16.9gpm hydraulic pump, 2 remotes & joystick, 3rd remote, 16x16 mechanical shuttle shift.

There are two prices, based upon either paying cash or financing:

TN65D -- $26,720 cash // $29,100 financed
TN70D -- $28,520 cash // $30,900 financed
TN75D -- $29,640 cash // $32,125 financed

Finance rates were noted [effected 10/01/02] as 0% for 36mos, 2.9% for 48mos and 3.9% for 60mos.

Other options they noted for me to consider:
Power Shuttle Transmission -- $1,200 add'l
SuperSteer -- $950 add'l
Air Ride Seat -- 550 add'l

NH 32LA loader with 72in HD Quick-Attach Bucket, "mounted and plumbed on tractor of choice" -- $4,600. He forgot to give me a cost on the 33LA if I were to opt for SuperSteer.

So, whadda think? It's kind of hard for me to tell from other's purchases since they're aren't many TN "D" models running around on the board here. Any input is appreciated.

Thanx & Best Regards,
Jay
