Continuing the discussion from a year ago about our DPF systems, since I cannot tinker with the ECU, I'm thinking about popping in a generic SK-09 DPF delete box in, yanking out the DPF and fabbing up a "test tube" and muffler to bridge the exhaust this coming spring.

I also see that an EU company is rewiring the ECU for the same result.

So I have a CK3510 can the emissions on it be deleted when the time comes?

So...if I read the installation manual correctly the emulator can also be installed on a car. I'm interested.

Just thinking out loud here; but it makes me wonder if you could just drill out the particulate filter and run it like a straight through pipe, leaving the differential pressure sensor in place. it would never sense a differential pressure and therefore should not trigger a regen.

Watching this too,, so ready to get that garbage off my tractor,

You would probably need to replace the filter with some equivalent orifice to mimic the standard "clean" pressure drop. I recall hearing that the systems will throw an error if the pressure drop is less than the normal range.

I originally thought that I could put in a zener diode with a fixed voltage of 0.75V onto the signal wire of the pressure diff sensor and then gut the DPF (I'd still need a muffler), but I suspect that would eventually put the computer into limp home mode because I think (but do not know) that the ECU expects to see that pressure difference increase over time and so the reference voltage would need to rise. If I'm right, then a simple zenor diode will not work and considering how inexpensive these eliminator boxes are may as well go that route. My concern is how to program them or trust their internal self-programming works good enough (see the PDF on my OP for those instructions).

Without a DPF, the system needs a muffler, thereby adding some back-pressure. The Emulator I linked to modifies the two exhaust pressure sensors as well as the DPF's pressure differential sensor.

Yes, they're made for cars, but near as I can see, all of these systems work much the same. As such I'm asking myself why can't I adapt this to my happy little Kioti tractor?

very interesting, glad to see that someone is staying on top of this stuff. :drink:

Yes!!! Just need someone else to try it out first! Early adopters have three years to figure it all out (after my warranty expires!).

Why go through all that? Does it cause you that much grief for a simple regen on a tractor?

Not really, until it starts causing grief....especially after the warranty expires, and those generally coincide with each other (warranty expires and starts causing grief). :)

I need to get a PC laptop for my plasma table anyway so I purchased the DPF particulate filter emulator SK-09.

Sub'd, looking forward to seeing what you find out. I may have an LS but these DPF and sensors plague all tractor no matter the color.

The ECU can't expect the reading to go up over time because it isn't a rational thing for a computer to do. My tractor went for the longest time without doing a regeneration.

I will be watching this topic.

Actually they can, they can do it on cars and trucks. If the computer reads a constant value it knows something is wrong. Same goes for catalytic converters and O2 sensors on cars the voltage changes on the O2 sensor by the amount of heat coming through the catalytic converter. If it reads a constant voltage it knows the car isn't running right.

I was referring to the pressure differential switch that Eric was talking about. My Kioti dealer told me that you can unplug this switch from the two balance tubes if you have a DPF issue where it keeps plugging up. The tractor will keep running like there is nothing wrong, the CEL light will not come on, the tractor will not go into limp mode and the automatic regen cycle will not work.
