I'm definitely going to Empire Days... and probably will get away for the NY Farm Days...

and Brooks Bar-b-que is delicious and inexpensive...

I had two half chickens at their store last summer for about $3.50 each and I was stuffed...

Anyhow... I think it would be more manageable and simpler to meet up at a place like Empire Farm...

Great idea, John! February is a wicked unpredictable time for travel where I'm coming from; just as likely to have a blizzard or ice storm as decent weather. August would be great, though!

Terry -- It sorta depends on your definition of "late winter." Around here I won't see the ground again till at least late April, and our last snowfall is the last week of May or the first of June...with Mud Season rolled in there somewhere. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Well, being that the house I live in now is about 20min west of Albany, and the land I am building my new house is about 20min south of Albany, Albany aera sounds good. Hay, Bring your tractors, and brush hogs and we can have a mow off. According to Street Atlas, it'd take me about 6 hours to get to Albany. Empire Days in August is definitely the better date for me and not just because of the weather. It'll take me that long to convince my better half to attend with me! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Good point..our better half.
Since 100% of us will be busy going here and going there,what about the women folk.
Now there some I'm sure who will get bored,so is there any shopping malls etc... near by.

Will this area have enough Motels&Hotels for this event.

Well, it's late winter here in Westen MD. Sometime's I can start to work the garden a little in the middle of March. Depends on how much snow and rain we get. Anywho, for upstate New York, it's still is the dead of winter. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gifD

If the "to do" was during Empire Days, it would be pushing things for me and the wife. That week is our Agricultural Exposition and the family is involved with it (4H and the like) and the following weekend is my wifes high school reunion. The big 25th for her. So, she CAN'T miss it. Now that doesn't preclude that I wouldn't make an attempt to attend. Just would have to plan to be traveling a lot. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Albany area in August sounds good to me.

Any chance we could find a place to have the get-together that has a softball field, or the like? (I'm calling 2nd base on the <font color=orange>Orange</font color=orange> team). Better yet, maybe we can make a softball field on some local TBNer's property/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Let's see . . . tiller, blade, FEL, landscape rake - we should be able to get that done/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.
