Well, ain't this a hoot?

The forecast that had us in the low 20s for Monday and Tuesday, now has us in the mid 40s for Monday and around 40 for Tuesday. Later in the week is still in question though and the deep dive may still happen.

Well, they only missed it by 100%.

At least it’s on the better side.

LoL...the only people that "missed it" are the fools that read the early predictions and crawled under a rock and are still there waiting for it...!

Weather "people" can do a lot of things, but predicting the weather beyond a couple of days is NOT one of them.

You could not be more wrong (believe it or not)...LoL...!

It's all about the controlling factors (winds aloft/ jet stream etc...)...if conditions don't change (and often enough they don't) accurate forecasts out two weeks are easily possible...

Like I've said the NWS updates their forecasts whenever the latest pertinent data is collected...during certain times of the year 10 day forecasts will not change one iota...and are extremely accurate...other times the newly collected data is applied and they update the forecasts...

Have you ever known a woman that didn't change her mind several times a day? It's not nice to think Mother Nature won't.

Controlling factors like "Bermuda Highs" can remain static for weeks at a time making long range (over two weeks out) forecasts very reliable...under certain conditions even tropical storm and hurricane landfalls can be accurately and precisely predicted well in advance of the storm with no variations...

^^^ More area than that. They're waffling milder through Wednesday before the Big Chill settles in. How deep and how long is still in question. Or if at all.

Sub-zero low temps headed to southern Michigan here too, looks like about 10-12 days of it.

It's unpleasant, but a good thing overall. Gotta kill those invasive plants and insects off! And then think how nice 25 degrees will feel afterwards!

It is 55 here, but my truck did see it's first snow ever last week. I was in Piney Flats, TN and it was snowing when I went to bed. Woke up to a white covering on everything!
