Thanks for all the help and opinions... Looking forward to what the CK20s HST will do and it looks like the Woods 70X is good for our needs.

I wish/hope the 3pt arms could stay on with the woods though and I never thought of that. I thought they did stay on other tractors that had the woods sub-frames but maybe not on the CK20 with the 70x sub-frame... We never found a CK20 with the 70x and most dealers didn't even think it would work on it; So we never did get to see one mounted. I'd swear the BH6000 on the McCormick we looked at had the arms on it but that's a different frame than the 70X uses.

Thanks Again guys, Glen

Just wondering if you are getting it with the thumb?

Hey bherr, I just noticed you are in Upstate Expensiveville too.... You anywhere near Amsterdam? I know Upstate is a huge generalization.. I use it because some people forget New York is a whole state and not just a city... I'd bet this silly state is trying to figure out a way to tax me for this post right now!!

Later, Glen

Wow the D word is filtered.... Maybe silly will still work.. At least until someone gets offended by it!

Just wondering if you are getting it with the thumb?

Well I was considering one but it will likely be down the road. My heavily wooded property would like a thumb for getting logs out and moving rocks and such.
It looks like a great accessory and I really should have priced one out. Would a thumb work better with the larger 16" bucket? I would think the larger width would help keep what you pick up (logs etc) from pivoting around as easily and stay square to the bucket, but maybe it's not a huge deal. Any Opinions?

I also wasn't really sure what size bucket for it 12" or 16" as the heavy rock infested land is tough to dig and the dealer recommended the 12" for the CK20. If I had easier digging soil I'd likely get the 16" but the John Deere we rented was bigger than The CK20 and it had a tough time ripping out the rocks in a few places. The Rental had a not so good patch/weld job on its hoe bucket and we ended up ripping the middle teeth right off it, but that is another story!!!

Anyplace to get a good deal on a thumb for the 70x later or should I just see what the dealer wants for one in the package? Oh and is the Bucket width fine with the 12" and a thumb?

Later and thanks, Glen

I have a 16" bucket on mine but for the CK20 I would think the 12" is just fine. As my back is not getting any younger the thumb was pretty important to me when dealing with my firewood. We grow some large trees out our way. The thumb is great in lifting and moving rocks, logs and larger firewood rounds. I do believe the Woods backhoe should be ready to mount the thumb (has the brackets?). I know one of the things I didn't like about the Kioti BH was the thumb and brackets had to be welded on as aftermarket.

Hey there,

I have the 16" bucket on mine, no problem at all. I also have a 9" for trenching work and smaller holes. This makes a perfect combination.

The arms stay on with my KB2465 and they did with the BH6000. Not sure for the other Woods model you are looking at.

Nothing wrong with going with the Woods BH, but if your budget it limited, the Kioti will be fine too.

Cheers,

Jon

Ha Ha never heard it quite put like that before, but i love it! "Upstate Expensiveville" all the tractors ive been looking at are affordable till you add in cuomos share. 13,600 is the same exact price i got from my dealer up here.

I have the ck20hst with 2465 BH. I think it is simple to get on and off. It is big to store and move around, but it is a brute for digging. I think that you need to take the 3pt hitch arms off when putting on the Woods. You can leave them on with 2465, probably no big deal. Get the BIG feet, the BH will move that tractor around pretty good without them.

I have the Woods 90x, I don't know about the 70, but with mine I don't have to remove the 3pt arms, I only need to unhook the sway links where they connect to the subframe and swing them in toward the center, don't have to remove anything.

Well I hope the 70x is the same way... None of the tractors I looked at had the arms removed with the 70x (or any Woods hoe that I recall), but they were not on the CK20 and there weren't a huge number (mounted most on pallets). Errr except for the BH6000, I did that see on the McCormick 10.25H and that had the arms on it. (The 10.25 is a kioti CK20 painted red)

Anyways thanks for all the info... Glen

Oh I almost forgot... Anyone have any idea what I should expect to pay for a thumb for the Woods 70x?

I didn't really price those out yet and adding it would be nice if I knew the dealer was giving me a good price.
I'd hate to say yes and find out I over-payed later because I didn't do my homework. Does anyone sell a thumb for the Woods online? or are there any aftermarket alternatives to consider?
