TYM T474
I'm looking to get a dump trailer and want to make sure it will work well to move my trailer around if needed. Here is what I've currently got:

- 2022 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton - max tow is 9,900 pounds
- 2022 TYM 474. I also have beet juice in rear tires, so that prob adds a few hundred pounds of weight. So prob about 4k pounds total. Overrall length with 3-point hitch is 131".

Here is the dump trailer I'm looking at. It's 12' long, 77" wide. Dry weight is 3,300 pounds. Total weight is can handle is 10k pounds. Ramps are included. I'll have to take the attachements off i'm sure an put in back of pickup.

Anyone ever done something like this, easy or hard? thank you

T474 with ROPS I take? You won't be able to haul it with any 3 point attachments like you said. But it will work I'm sure.....FEL and bucket might have to be secured in an awkward way perhaps, I hauled my cabbed T474 with a 04 Chevy 1500 for mowing jobs for years until recently when I got an 2004.5 2500HD Duramax. But I use the same 20' 10k tilt trailer with no issues.

A 4k tractor and a 3.3k unladen weight (tare) on trailer put whole rig at about GVW 7.3k... you are Nowhere near max GVW of trailer and trucks towing specs.....What was your question?...

Question is more along the lines is it easy to get on or off or should I go for a bigger trailer?

Be nice if they showed a picture with the ramps. I reckon if it has ramps on something that solid, you should be able to drive your 474 right in.

Are you coming down here to get it?

What part of Minn are you in? I grew up in SD just across the state line from Central MN. Went to UMinn for a while a long time ago.

IF trailer is wide enough for tractor to easily fit, only question may be are ramps long enough for easy angle of attack... Have seen trailers with 8 ft long ramps but they must weigh a ton.... Or there is attached ramps that fold and are hinged in middle .... Option are varied.... Seriously double if you have a 4-6 foot ramp tractor will have a problem negotiating ramps..

I've used a similar speced dump trailer that way for a long time. This is the closest one to it they currently make:

It's designed to haul skidsteers to the job, then use the trailer on-site, once it's unloaded. Heavy D ring tie downs in each floor corner. Dropped axle. 10K rating is only 6-7K payload- fine for compacts but will only haul two yards of dirt or gravel.

6ft wide Kubota in a 6'8" wide walled bed is a little awkward. Getting on/off the tractor requires climbing up onto the wall rails from the ground. (It used to be much easier)

I let the 6' bush hog hang off the back with a flag on its tail wheel. Pull forward enough so the front of the bushhog sits on the rear trailer lip without causing too much tongue weight.

The loader bucket sits on the trailer's front hydraulics box ok but some box lid protection woulda been nice. The box is reasonably heavy gage steel.

If I didn't need the dump, I'd buy a tilt trailer. Everything is a compromise.

I've got a T394 tractor. I haul it in my 14' dump trailer, sometimes with attachments on. Towing with a Toyota tundra. Works well.

I purchased a dump trailer a year or so before buying a tractor. The fact that I can haul my tractor around in it has been an added bonus. (I drove from SoCal to Phoenix, AZ to go pick up my tractor when I purchased it and the trailer was flawless the whole trip.) The dump trailer has been a HUGE asset to have around. I've been acting as the GC during our home/shop construction and the 14' dump trailer has been the go-to for numerous dump runs. I'm sure it has about paid for itself. Anyway, I think a dump trailer will be used for a whole lot more than just ferrying the tractor around!

Interesting. You back in the tractor. is there a reason for that?
