Oh you're right! Well in my defense, I've never seen a welding rod burned up before.:rolleyes::laughing:

No wonder - stuff isn't cheap, about $5.50 - $6 a pound... Steve

Not too bad for abrasive wear. About $2 per pound for 50# box of 7018 or 6010 last time I checked.

Ha! I'm so cheap that I do it all the time. When the rod goes all sparkly then it is time to get a fresh rod. Of course, I go through stingers as well so there goes the savings.
