A word to the wise on the mag. The cover with the 2 screws is the cap. You would find the rotor under this. The main cap assembly is held on by 4 screws. This is where the points, condenser, and coil are found. On removal of this cap, it is likely to throw the ignition timing off. ( rotor is driven by a fiber gear) Set the engine just before #1 ( #4 exchaust valve just closing) remove the cap, and make sure the rotor faces before#1. Also, it's far easier to work on mag out of the tractor. On the oil filter, the oem filter from Allis had a wood dowel installed to keep the fiber of the filter in place. The only filter that has kept this was the Baldwin filter. Allis had oil pressure issues, years ago, with filters being shipped without the dowel. I may still have service bulletin on it from the company.
