So I added a step on my B7800

My father is really appreciating power steering at age 79... he got in and out of my tractor all winter, to gather 40 cubic yards of firewood for the years that he might not be so mobile, after being out of business for 2 years due to artery surgeries, cracked vertebrae, tinnitus and a host of other smaller issues he had a hard time accepting...

So i say good for you, go on while you can, because rest rusts !!

I had to add one to my Ford. I also added a grab handle on the front top brace and fender grab handles.

Wiser is smarter. Better steps, ladders, stepstools well placed hand holds makes for long enjoyable life. I kinda like bar grates for steps because they are shelf cleaning for mud.

I turned 80 this year and remember a friend suggesting I write my age on the back of my glasses to remind me not to try the things I did 20 years ago. Now with back problems and a hernia, I think I understand but I an't giving up just yet.

Getting up into the cab of my Ford 6000 can be challenging. It is not just the steps but also the very small opening just in front of the left hand rear wheel - see picture. Refilling the diesel from a 20 itre container while balancing on the step is an interesting job too

Those B7800s sit pretty high. I had one when younger and I'm 6'4" and it was a big step even for me then. Nice step!

I used to laugh at people who wanted or installed bed steps on their pickups. I was a lot younger, then.

The best handle I use getting on the tractor is the steering wheel.

I added a step to my B1700 a couple years ago...also raised the seat up some to give the legs a little more room...easier on the knees and hips...hate to give up the gear drive but an HST may be in my future...!

My Ram 1500 2021 had this step on it when I bought it. Maybe they are standard eq now. I use that thing all the time.

I found out last week that a Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 without running boards, is impossible for me to get into.

My mobility limits, meant that when I bought my BX23S in 2018, I had a few fabrications added before delivery, the Dealer did that gratis

- it's a small tractor to start with (no step options, at least at that time), but I could only manage about a 14" step up, so a non-slip step was made for me. It was designed so that IF I bought a mid mount mower in the future, there would be no issues with this step.
- I requested a grab bar on the left side also, so that I wasn't always yanking on the steering wheel. Now getting on the tractor is so much easier, safer, and no risk of breaking the steering. The grab bar was fabricated and bolted into the existing holes on the ROPS
- The foot pedals for direction were fitted with a steel plate to make things easier for me. The toe and heel operation is much easier, and there is no risk of my ankle getting stuck between the forward and reverse pedals.

Dealership relationships are all the difference.
