Go to "My Home" in tractbynet.com
Look for main configuration near the bottom of that screen
Click on Personal information ------ edit
the edit button is way over to the right

look for "signature"
just fill in your info /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

To be honest I thought that sounded pretty 'hot' for a cracker box. Maybe I misread it ?

It's raining right now but I'll go re-read it tomorrow when i have my boots on.

Coulda swore it said 100% at 230 amps.....

I looked at my welder again,,, It says " UP TO 100%" which I'm gonna take to mean at the lower/lowest setting it is 100% cycle. That makes more since as I would have not figured this was some high end 100% at highest setting type of equipment.

None the less I did some welding today just welding things together. I'm going to call it 'art' since there is absolutely no reason for the welds. Just random welding attaching junk to other junk trying to get a feel for it all.

its going good, im doing much the same as you - if you squint sometimes you can make the 'art' seem like an animal, one of mine was definately a dinosaur
im getting some good welds now ive got some metal the right thickness
sounds like you got a nice welder tom, 100% must be real great, is it kinda silent when on with just the fan whirring as the only noise? what kinda size metal are you welding?
i get this book out the library called farm welding and not only was it funnny but it also gave some really good tips how to get good welds easily
have you done much destructive testing? how did your welds do?

I appreciate the discussion as you guys are having. Please keep it up and continue to give us the progress reports. It is most helpful since I (and perhaps others) will be doing the same thing. For me I will be following in your footsteps this spring.

Oh yes, pictures of the early welds (if you're not too shy) would be most informative.
