Glad I purchased my Kubotas

I've had three Kubotas in the last 10 yrs. All three have been flawless with no issues except my B2710HSD . Had to have the anti-cavitation kit installed but Kubota picked up the tab for it waaaayyy out of warranty.
After seeing some of the "issues" with the other orange tractor brand I am glad I made the right choice.

It has been problem free for going on 10 years and 1500 hours.

What's an anti cavitation kit? The only reference I could find was in reference to watercraft, since I keep my Kubota out of deep water, maybe I don't need one.

Their are others that can explain it much better but it has something to do with the coolant in the engine eroding through the cylinder walls. It was a big problem years ago on some diesel tractor and truck engines.

Thank you. I thought I was on the Kubota forum and I wanted to brag on my three. If I were on another brand forum and posted there about my Kubotas that would be understandably trying to look for a fight. Not interested in a fight. I'm happy as a pig in slop.

Their are others that can explain it much better but it has something to do with the coolant in the engine eroding through the cylinder walls. It was a big problem years ago on some diesel tractor and truck engines.

This was due to the Ph level of the Ethelyn Glycol based coolant. If the acidity level goes to far off it literally eats through the cylinder walls. very common problem for diesels using this type of coolant. While I have no idea what the kit you refereed to that Kubota installed for you, what I can tell you is that it was probably a DCA infused bypass filter assembly.

FYI everyone here regardless of tractor manufacturer should be testing there coolant ph level atleast at each service interval. Test strips to do this are widely available at any large truck or truck parts dealer. You local tractor dealer may also have them.

No sir, it has nothing to do with the cooling system. That's another beast altogether. This refers to some B-Series models that would after long, hard use experience an intermittent "jerky" steering or jerky lift operation. The cause was the way the return line was plummed back into the pump. Kubota has a kit that re-routes the return strait back to the tranny instead of the into the pump thereby eliminating the issue. Mine never experienced the problem till it was 7 years old. Kubota covered the part kit and I installed it myself in an hour. That's pretty good service on the part of Kubota at least in my estimation. Neither of the other two have given me any trouble. Not even a battery yet. Still on the original batteries.

I thought cavitation was due to air pockets in the coolant flow around the cylinders. Air cavitation is what I think is the problem. It would erode the cylinders.
