Dave, I don't think that Mike was trying to be insulting to you, but mearly stating a saying by Ben Franklin. Something like "Those who would trade freedom for security, don't deserve either" I'm got a Ben Franklin book which I read years ago. I should reread that one also.

I've noticed that we all at times take post as being directed to us a personal attack, but by rereading them, they are usually just blunt words, with no attack intended. Although as previously stated by whom raised me, I have a rather thicker skin than some of my friends...

Interesting thing about Franklin, he was rather fond of the company of ****** and of taking "air showers" ( sitting nude in the wind)!

I think he would have been a fun guy to spend some time with.

YEA, finally caught up. Could have done without 20 or so pages on health care in a thread on global warming. LOL

Ahh, now I understand... My partner just told me that health care was the reason for global warming.

Now I just have to try to culminate my thoughts from the last 87 pages.

I don't see why you are so giddy about this? "Some" scientists want changes because of four small errors? Hardly seems like a condemnation of climate change to me. What am I missing???

US Senate Committee hearings on Environment and Public Works was scheduled today to hear "Global Warming Impacts, Including Public Health, in the United States".

Canceled due to snow.

Actually this is very fitting because when James Hansen testified in congress in the late '80's about global warming, they brought him to testify during a heat wave and turned off the air conditioning so everybody was sweating. Great theater, short on science.

Local weather report - NNY temps are on the high side of normal today - our low temp was about 10 degrees above average low. We had a high pressure system in our area for the past few days which pushed weather that normally hits us way to the south. Our temperatures were not abnormally low then and now are a bit on the warm side. Can't draw a good conclusion from localized conditions.
