What is surprising is that the global warming advocates never mention the sun, or it's solar cycles, solar flares,......absolutely amazing.

They can rattle on and on about a tiny slice of time about CO2, ice melting, polar bears........but never a word about the sun's output, and how it is ever changeing.;)

The absolute bottom line of truth is that other planets in our SOLAR system, are also warming up at this time. No matter which side spins it either way, this fact remains and stand on it's own. :D

You can deny the truth, hide the truth, spin the truth, but soon enough the truth will stand on it's own all by it's self. Gotta wear shades, cause the truth is cool, and will set you free.:D

The earth is 4.5 billion years old, and has gone through 11 ice ages, mini and max. We are now in a slight warming period. The earth has been much warmer than it is today by as much as 7 degrees F without fossil fuels being burned, SUVs zipping around, Al's heated pool giving off CO2, and water vapor. :p

No amount of any factual truth just never sinks into large groups of people's head. Don't smoke, it's a health hazard, you could get lung cancer, or heart trouble. Don't drink hard liquor to excess every day, your liver might rot, and kidney's fail. Don't drive aggressively, you might crash. Don't rodeo your tractor in top gear with a full bucket of soil, lifted up to full height. You might flip your tractor over and die. You tell some people look, I'm going to release this small steel shotputt, and it will drop to the ground because of gravity. They think it will float upwards due to some magic they saw in a Harry Potter movie. You just can't get through to some people. It's futal, I don't waste my time on them. Explaining, or argueing.

I do enjoy hearing from them from time to time, it just makes me laugh and laugh. How in the world could one allow themselfs to get suckered in by Al, and his sky is falling theory......because that's what it is...a theory. It hasn't been proven. All the data he, and others relate to global warming reminds me of the story called "The Big Lie". After hearing the big lie, over and over, even as unbelievable as it sounded at first, it begins to become plauseable, due to so many speaking it, and it just might be just a little true, then maybe more true, until it in itself is accepted as the truth. Hilter used this tactic to rise to power, and enslave a nation to his own wicked ideas.

This post is mostly in support of the global warming skeptics, than a rebutal.:)

I studied fusion power towards my finishing up school, and read much about the sun, and it's solar activity, long before global warming was ever mentioned. Global warming is just a tool for people who wish to have power over others. This does not make them leaders.

If we make it as a species, there will come a time when we will be concerned about the next real ice age.:p

Then there is the possibility of the E.L.E. astroid or comet. Now that time, if we haven't gotten our act wired together tight, and gotten several hundred million people into space colonies, onto the moon, mars and beyound. Then that will be a real threat to humankind...... Yea, that was another thing I was real keen on in school, The Industrialization of Space. ;)

Amen Eddie. They (global warming advocates) hang their hats on CO2 increases as a major cause of global warming. CO2 is actually only about 5% of the total green house gases, the majority being water vapor. The Earth may be warming (I don't think it is) but has done so after each of the many Ice Ages. Now I think I'll go burn some fossil fuels in the tractor and maybe cut down a few trees. :)

Maybe we should start draining the wetlands. Lot of vapor comes from there and CO2. I know we need to protect the snakes, alligators and bugs. Think about the mosquitos. I would bet some of those mosuitos escape the wet lands and actually cause disease. Additionally, I would guess, from time to time, we have to spray poison to kill these mosquitos. I wouldn't be surprised if the govenment allows DDT to be used in some cases to kill certain bugs. So inorder to protect the "eco system wetlands" we have a boomerang effect; protect wetlands and poison the dry lands. "WARNING"...... Above is just discussion points. These are just rambling thoughts. I have no facts to back up the thoughts.

Cheers

If you drain the swamps, where will all that water go? Might cause the oceans to rise!!! Then the oceans will cover up the swamps and it will be chaos!!!!!!!! Of course, if all the swamps were drained, the iceburgs will have more water to drink and then they will grow into bigger iceburgs and that might lead to global cooling!!

Remember, back in the 70's, global cooling was happeninb because of farmers raising all that dust into the atmosphere and blocking the sun.

We're doomed either way. hahahaha

Thank God for Global Warming! :D

Right here on our property in Florida we have Polar Bear bones and fossils that are only 6-8,000 years old.

If it weren't for Global Warming, my Ruger #1 would have many Polar Bear kill notches in its stock...

Oh, and the people worried about the range of the whales, seals, and dolphins - we have plenty of their fossilized bones all over the place here to, glad to see them all go as the horses in our pasture would have a tough time diving hundreds of feet down to get some sea grass....

This part of the globe is warming steadily. Last month we had temps in the 20's. This week we're getting into the 80's. Within a month or two we will be well into the 90's. So from my local perspective this global warming stuff is very, very real. But I have a sneaking suspicion that in about 7 months all this global warming talk will be passe' and we'll be involved in global cooling.

I have no research to support any of this, but I'm pretty sure it's going to work out this way.

Yeah Eddie those are great links.

It is interesting that the biggest loud mouth political backers of "Global Warming Doom" are Al Gore, John Kerry, and John Edwards......

Harry,

It sounds like you mean well, but I think you saw Mr. Gores movie and actualy belive it.

The ice melt in Antarctica is well documented, but overall, the mass of ice is increasing.

Polar Bear populations are on the increase. Canada has had sport hunting for them for years and the Fish and Game in Alaska wants to open hunting for them there too. There are so many bears that overpopulation is becomeing a concern!!! Bears seen out hundreds of miles from land are very common, they can swim that. The reason they are out there is they are hungry and too many bears have cut down on the food supply.

Killer Whales are in their normal areas. Pretending that there is a defined boundry is just plain silly. Same thing with birds. They have always gone where they want and will continue to do so. Believeing that there is some natural boundry to where animals can and can't go just shows a very small understanding on what nature does. They also die allot when they venture too far out, but it's always happening and part of the natural order of things.

CO2 level have magically decreased over the years. Every chart out there shows it goes up, then it goes down. To assume otherwise isn't really taking history into account.

So far nobody has been able to prove that CO2 levels have anything to do with global temptures. Remember that the planets so called global tempature is actually down an insiginificant amount over the last 7 years. If CO2 levels caused the planet to heat up, why is it not happening right now?

Mars and the other planets are warming up. Why is it natural for them to increas in tempature from the sun, but here it's blamed on human activity? How come the sun isn't responsible? Why is global warming bad?

There are allot of glaciers that are growing, but the few that have shrunk are all you hear about. Sea levels have not risen and there is not evidence that they will anytime soon. Maybe in another thousand years when the sun continues to heat the planet to a sufficient level, it might happen, but then again, the charts that everyone is showing also indicate we might be at the peak of the warming trend. Less then one degree over the last century really isn't much cause for alarm.

Eddie

Eddie, making things up does not help your side.

So Polar bears are in the increas? Why then, are they being considered for 'endangered species list'?

Ice increasing - just one cite would be nice. I have seen that put forth before, usually in the form of "some glaciers are advancing". Strange that when asked for a cite there is never an answer.

Killer whales in there normal areas? How come the Eskimoes up in Canada are reporting them where they never saw them before?

Birds 'go where they want'? Odd that they 'go where they can survive' instead. There was a report in the paper just last week (mayibe the Sunday edition) of lots of birds way out of their range and this is breeding season.

CO2 levels are _not_ going down. There are CO2 records extending around 100,000 years into the past.

If the deniers would just get off the 'man is causing it' and realize that there is a natural cycle (noone denies that) but man is making a contribution they would have a much better chance of making their point.

I wish I had kept clippings from the newpapers over the past year. Every point I listed above appeared in the national newpapers in that period. Lastest one was the report of 40sq miles of sea ice that departed from Ellesmere Island about a month ago.

Oh. I almost forgot. I have not seen that movie nor read any of Gore's writings. I am going only by what I see in the papers plus discusstions like this on the internet.

The deniers seem to rely solely on making assertions but never giving a cite and where they do cite something it is usually from a dubious source or one that is 'tweaking and cherry picking' the data.

The last I knew eskimos only live 80 or so years, so who cares what they see and do not see. These warming and cooling cycles last sometimes over 200 years. Large chunks of ice breaking off from a shelf do not make global warming fact. Have you bothered to watch "The Great Swindle" or would that threaten your pet project. Take you fear elsewhere and try it on the unlearned.
