Glue??

As I slowly learn timberframing I am beginning to appreciate old hand tools more and more. Properly maintained they can be more accurate - and a heck of a lot less noisy and dusty.
'Course I have plenty of big modern tools too...

Given the popularity of glue as a topic on TBN lately, maybe we could petition Muhammad to change the "Oil, Fuel & Lubricants" forum to "Oil, Fuel, Lubricants & Glues".

<font color=blue>change the "Oil, Fuel & Lubricants" forum to "Oil, Fuel, Lubricants & Glues"</font color=blue>

Now that could lead to some truly expensive misunderstandings. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

We use the Gorilla Glue at the restaraunt to repair chairs. Works great but I suggest a little pratice before you use it. It swells up like the insulation in a can. Extremly good for repairs.

Good luck PTRich

Al, I said it'd been over 45 years since I used that kind of glue, then I got to thinking about it and I guess the last time I used it was when I built my mother the "sewing table" shown in the attached picture - 47 years ago./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Looks like a respectable piece of furniture to me, Bird. And the fact that it's still in service 47 years later speaks volumes to its quality. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

But please tell me you cleared it off for the picture, or my "attraction of crap to horizontal surfaces" premise will completely fall apart. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Dang, Harv, you weren't supposed to think of things like that. Of course, you can see one box on the floor that I moved down there, and I ain't gonna tell you what I set a little farther to right - out of the picture.[win]
