I just snapped a couple of pics of mine. image-781574844.jpg image-2821378051.jpg I used vice jaw protectors containing rare earth magnets. Terry

Terry... Very Cool

BTW, just went to Victoria for my birthday. Never have been. Took the ferry, stayed downtown by the docks. Great food, really nice people and a beautiful city. Got out into the countryside a bit, saw the Buchart gardens and got a once in a lifetime orca sighting where Pods J,K, and L all got together. A really nice way to cover up a really crappy birthday.

How about locating some magnets with holes in them? Then you could use small countersunk
bolts, and nuts.

That's what I use. I get the 2-hole rectangular Neodymium magnets directly from China, which mines virtually all
the world's supply.

I have had no luck getting the magnets to stick with epoxy, even after sanding the magnet's surface.

I suppose I should clarify that in my case the magnets were already embedded in the aluminum jaws and I only had to adhere aluminum to aluminum with the JBWeld.

Woodlandfarms, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to Victoria.

You might try 'sanding in".
Take some sandpaper and sand the magnet while coated with the epoxy. Makes a big difference with aluminum. Also make sure you have mixed your epoxy enough. Most epoxy failures are due to inadequate mixing.

At the risk of sounding like an advertiser... I have had great success with Click Bond adhesive bonding to magnets. You can get small kits from electricalhub.com. CB200 is the name of the adhesive... it is a fast curing two part acrylic/epoxy blend. The kit name is CB92.

Im interested in this thread as well. The magnets always fall off my stainless magnet trays and I haven't found anything that works, including jb weld.

But for the op, is there a reason that you can't just use steel strips? I also wonder if the magnets would have am effect on the cut?

E6000. You can make glass to glass water tight and strong and any thing else. Can't use it around fuel though.

Mike. I had to make a 4 ft edge. Steel would be too heavy.
