I agree the ignition switches should not have moved but I can't help but think about the tonnage people hang off of a key ring, my wife included. I also can't help but think that all the victims were teenagers likely not driving with their hand on the wheel in the 2 and 10 o'clock positions with their eyes on the road. Did the victims receive driver's training that included controlling a vehicle that looses power assist steering and power assisted braking.

GM knew about this and did nothing which was wrong. Kids driving with a heavily loaded key ring, distracted, were also a contributor. The people responsible need to take the responsibility regardless if they were GM or the drivers. Anything overloaded will fail.

I have heard that "driver's training" no longer teaches 10 and 2 o'clock hands due to damage from air bags. Current training is 4 and 8? Personally, I don't know, I started before they had "driver's training", mom taught me.

In the end you the taxpayer will need to pay for this as the gov bails them out yet again. How many lives does big business get?

I drive a Gm truck and find the dealerships unbearable to deal with since the bailout! They are not interested in pleasing the client only the bottom $$
