Based on the information retrieved out of the Cobalt痴澱lack box that had to be pried from the mangled wreckage with the Jaws of Life the day after the accident, Joe was driving 87 miles per hour when he slammed into the tree. The police report says the car went airborne at 3 a.m., in the rain, and while 19-year-old Zach was not legally drunk with tests showing a .07 blood alcohol content, Joe was .12 and legally drunk. It痴 illegal for both these two young men to have been drinking at all.

While I am sure this has happened it's not common. The Eco Boost accounts for 65% of F150 sales since 2011 according to Truck Trend Magazine. I have not read of it being wide spread. Nor nearly as big of a issue as GM 5.3L oil consumption issues.

GM isn't going anywhere. We the taxpayers will bail them out again. No big deal. The hearings are a simple formality. Same thing going on with the Bengazi hearings. No big deal.....

Does anyone know if the 13 killed by this switch failure, include the 2 young guys that were driving while intoxicated 87 miles an hour on a wet curvy road at night with no drivers license in a borrowed car and hit the tree count in this number?

I am sorry they were killed, but they brought the majority of this on them selves. I sure would not have wanted to try to keep the car on the road at 87 on a wet night without being drunk.

Yeah James, my heart isn't in this because I've not suffered a loss. But, with that said, the first time my vehicle shut itself off accidently I would have cleaned off the key ring, if that was the cause. The second time, I would have determined the new cause and created a remedy. If I couldn't live with the piece of baling wire that I deemed the remedy tied to the key in the run position, I would have traded the POS and moved on. It would have never entered my mind to blame GM and sue. Money will not undo this. Makes me wonder, how many families that lost members have taken action to remedy the problem.
