One of the amazing things that happens during and after something like this is all the people that want to help. Here in my city, I can't even count how many different groups there are that are collecting supplies and hauling them down there. Same thing with people I know that have left to go help, and those still loading up their trucks and boats that will be leaving tomorrow or the next day. We have given stuff to friends that have already left, and will give some more to those about to go. I'm torn between joining them, and knowing that I can't leave right now with my dad dealing with his Leukemia, chemo, and everything I have to do here to just keep us alright.
Seeing the video clips, the pictures on FB and hearing what friends and friends of friends are doing, truly makes me proud of where I live and the people who will drop everything to go help total strangers!!!
