Devry has only one place in Dallas, moved? I do not know. It may have been the name that you said. It was a big place, people were real nice. They had a band that was terrible. All music was the same just different words and different speed. But that may be what country music is. It sure was not CCR.

Dan, if it was The Trail Dust, that's a very popular place; does a booming business. But I've only eaten there once when some friends wanted to take us out there and he insisted that he and I were going to order their biggest monster T-bone steaks. A T-bone of that size should have fed 2 or 3 people, and it was very good except for so much fat and bone that I could have eaten two of them by myself. So I haven't been back. Maybe you and I were just unlucky. And they didn't have a very good band when I was there either.

Dallas-Fort Worth.... you can keep them both.. Had my first honeymoon there and still have not FORGIVEN them yet... Give me some palace with a little couth like Houston... After living in Houston 25 years you learn not to like DALLAS.

A honeymoon in Dallas? That's hard to imagine./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif In my pre-teen years, lived about halfway between Dallas and Oklahoma City. Visited Oklahoma City to see grandparents a couple of times a year, and Dallas once a year for the State Fair. Thought they were great places to visit and would hate like the dickens to have to live in either one. Then lived in or around Dallas for over 30 years; had to go to Houston on business 3 or 4 times and just thanked my lucky stars every time that I didn't have to stay in Houston. I still think that's the worst spot in the state (I'd drive a hundred miles out of my way to avoid it), but if you like Houston, Dallas is getting more and more like it every day./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif I consider either of them unfit for human habitation now.

No, Thomas, thank goodness! I only passed through Mass. once, straight down I-95; only stopped once for gas and asked the station attendant if they had a map I could look at, and he told me in no uncertain terms that they sold maps and weren't about to have any out for people to look at free. If I hadn't already pumped 70 gallons of gas, I'd have only bought enough from him to get out of that state./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Bird, when you are from Solgohachia, Arkansas, Dallas is a pretty exotic. And besides that was about all the gas I could efford even it gas was only $0.22 per gallon then.

Gosh, it must have been nice to have all that money./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif I guess you could say we honeymooned in Dallas, too. We got married in Dallas one night and started working a new job as an apartment complex manager the next morning; didn't even make an overnight trip out of town until we'd been married 6 months./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Mainly I've past thru Dallas, and Houston. I try to avoid them if possible. Had to drive around within Houston a couple of times. What really gets me is they built Sam Houston Race Park at the end of the gangster highway. I once drove thru downtown Manhattan, but that was when I was alot younger, braver, and dumber.
