i felt my turf getting a little trampled a few messages up, so after 34 years in and around the dallas area, i'll comment. first, dallas isn't the same place it used to be. it has been absolutely overrun by hundreds of thousands of yanks, most of which live in Plano.
(btw, a yank is defined as someone coming from north of the red river (divides tx and ok). no insults intended.) i read an article last year that said 300 people a day relocate to the the dfw area. we didn't ask for them.
second, by big city standards, there is no better. I've traveled the country on a weekly basis for much of the past 10 years and I'm not impressed with any of the big cities. at least we never have to shovel heat down here.
