Chains Good chains for R4's?

   / Good chains for R4's? #41
I just found the specs for it; 15x19.5 R4s, no pics where I looked so they may be fixed one piece rims - would side to side swap help ? or are they centered (approx zero offset) ?

I have no experience of 19.5 diameter rims on tractor'ettes - on li'lul truck'lets yes.
(-:

EDIT:
Now I found the glossies and the L3200, 3800, and 4600 are all shown with R4s (probably because K wants to sell the back hoe image)
and they all APPEAR to have 2 piece rims with the inner half set wide, but the other half not at max width, i.e. there are normally 8 possible settings with that wheel type.
:End EDIT

Interesting that they are shown that way, I agree with you, however, my L3400HST 2010 model with R4 has 1 piece rim.. no adjustment possible. I have no idea how others are delivered.

You got wotcha got, I ain't 'bout to argue (-:

I browsed here;
Kubota Tractor Corporation - Tractors | L Series | L3200 L3800
and looked at "Photo Gallery" all 3 pics show R4s
all 3 pics show 2 piece rims.

I'd "sue 'em" if I couldn't get chains on,,,,,
OTOH, the specs say it is a 2600~2700 lb "tractor", which helps me understand why people say they don't rip up "lawns".
Anything under ~2 tons and even some above ...I think of as a "mower".

My Peerless Duo trac set arrived tonight, I'll unpack them tomorrow.
So far; YEAH they probably ARE 58 or more pounds a side.

Tractiontirechains.com had forwarded my order for a direct ship from Peerless.
Hmmm, these chain pliers feel pretty hefty too (-:

Snow ?
WHAT friggin' snow ?
Total flake count on my whole property this year is probably less than 50 (including family members).

15x19.5 is a very typical size for R-4 tires. My old Deere 790 had them as do many of the midsized Deere CUTs.
They are unidirectional, which mean you have to swap side to side. To ensure this would be worthwhile, you have to measure the hub offset both inside and outside.
BTW, most wheels I've seen with adjustable hubs were for R-1 Ag tires...are you sure those glossy pics were of R-4 tires?

"Sure" ? Yes.
"Certain" ? No.
They "LOOK LIKE" R4s to ME.
I understand there to be some wide and low profile R1s that "look like" R4s, but from what I have read/heard those are unlikely to be found on tractors of this size range.

There is a disclaimer saying that the tractor as depicted may differ from ....legalmumblespeak...

If you try to build one to order there are 3 tire options, but no rim options.
That is about as far as I went with it.
