I picked up a YM2000 last year and it runs like a top with its new head. I just came across a RS1303 Tiller that the guy wants $500 for. It is operational and has the gauge wheels. The tines look good as well. Will my 2000 Carry it? and is the price right? I have learned much from this forum and do appreciate the time you guys spend here. Thoughts??

Its the next size smaller than the RS1400 that came with YM2000. Should work fine. (1300, 1400 are width in mm).

Those were less expensive five years ago but that's a decent price today in the condition you describe.

There's a 1404 on CL. in Ga. for 500.00 also. Here's a pic. of my 1400 on a 2000. I never found a need to have the Gauge Wheels in Ga.. About the only parts Available for them now is New Tines. They were at Fredricks and the Tiller came from them also. I gave 675.00 for it in 09. with basicly just Tines and Painted and no Wheels.

Don't cry. ... I paid $200 for my RS1400.

Downside is I negotiated that for the worst-painted one they had. Upside was the tines were decent and they included a whole new set, claimed authentic Yanmar. It runs fine.

I didn't realize it at the time but this was the beginning of a big importer's going-out-of-business sale. Pic. Its the last green one to the left.

Test run at lo then hi pto speeds.

Pic in use
. I need the gauge wheels to use it with the YM186D, without them it will occasionally bury itself and stall the tractor.

BooHoo not me! I still sold it in 3 days On Cl.for 600.00 it worked great for my mothers small Garden. I sure Didn't have any selection like in your Pic. 2 I believe Lol. One thing I did notice is the BB. now I know who Manufactured mine. I was there mostly for 2000 parts. I can pretty much honestly say my 2000 is origanal. The only New part on it is the Battery and Seat:laughing:

You have some great dirt in CA. Here in the ozarks I couldn't drop that tiller into the dirt anywhere without hitting a rock!

Price sounds a bit high. I paid $250 for an RS1200.

Tillers are in big demand here in East Texas. Anything $500 or below is a rare thing to see. Most are closer to the $750 range and up.

Bkwudzhom, did you buy the tiller? Got any photos?

This is good soil. But also the orchard has been under continuous cultivation for 100+ years so it tills pretty easy. Photo - discing, first pass of the year along the new neighbor's boundary stakes where the big tractor won't fit. This was with the YM240 a few years back. I bought the little YM186D specifically because it will fit under the trees in tight spots like this.

Hey guys. Sorry for the delay. The tiller was bought from a friend of my father. They are 3 hours away and I have yet to have any free time to go pick it up. Will Post pics up on it's arrival!!

Back with news and questions!! Since the new year has rolled around I have been Pulling 75 -80 hrs a week. Just got the tiller to the house last week. I will include pics later when the wife gets home Monday. I did try to hook it up and have a few problems. The top link has a very short link and a triangle piece that I have never seen before. and the PTO shaft seems to be too long by a couple of inches.. Any one want to enlighten me on what I need to do to attach the top link properly.

In the last few days there was a thread on exactly this - but I can't find it. Maybe its indexed under some unrelated topic, and the emphasis of that thread shifted. (People, start a new properly-titled thread if you have a new question!!!) Anybody know where it is?

Here's an old thread that responds to the same tiller setup questions. In its post#9 I posted this RS1400/YM2000 tiller setup decal. Note the 'bridge' has to be bolted solidly to the tractor's upper link mount point. If simple pins are used, there is enough force and slack when tilling to wear everything there rapidly.

Does your tractor have the PTO overrun clutch? perhaps this is where the extra few inches are added, Not sure but the tiller may have been designed to install without this clutch, ---anyone---?

Back with Pics!! Thanks for all of your input. I have attached some pics and hope to shed some light on the situation. The triangle part was attached to the top link area of the tiller and had the short top link attached to that. It may be that the side link arms need to be connected to the lower lift arms further out changing the overall geometry of the connections..here it is for your inspection and corrections.. Fire away!!

Your two pictures where the tiller is visible, and the final picture, look correct. When you get a driveline attached, it looks like you are ready to start tilling.

I don't recognize pictures 1,2,4. Maybe for some other tractor?? Anybody?

And one more comment - a dealer on here once suggested open and re-grease the off-side tine shaft bearing (picture 3). He said these tillers may have had water in there for years, and spinning a rusted bearing will destroy the end of the tine shaft. Wheel bearing grease. In fact he recommended replace it with a fully sealed bearing then forget it.

Yep! And it was FULL of water. With new Tines it worked but with all the problems just getting it setup on my YM2000, Wrong pto.shaft etc. And after finding this and no parts available,Body in bad shape with the rear wheels "cut" off, I had to let it go. It may have lasted yrs. but a courier actually picked it up so I tend to believe it was bought just for parts.
