I was waiting for someone to catch that. I figure he has to get there first before he can be mangled by the pto.:D

Shoot I bet that old boy has pulled tractors like that for years. I would have had it chained better, but my trailer does not have any brakes. there are alot of trailers up my way, 50 miles north of Ruston, that don't have brakes. I was at the trailer dealer the other day and alot of new trailers had no brakes or brakes only on one axle.

I think Arkansas law is no brakes needed until 3500 pounds and the only one brake axle after the 3500 pound rule. Most states require brakes on both axles. They should make that the rule, then every trailer built would come with brakes.

I weighed my truck trailer tractor with hog, but without front loader. My weight was 14,140. Do I need a trailer brake or 2. Yes I plan on putting one on the rear axle someday. If you pay attention to what you are doing then you can stop without fear of running someone over,, BUT an emergency stop may not give you the room you need to stop.

Picturing it now; a couple Louisiana good ole boys walking back towards the truck and seeing this yankee fella with some sorta funny look'n uniform underneath the trailer taking pictures. That one will be discussed around the crab boil parties for a long time.
Hey Boodrough, What that fella is did?

Word! For the price of a set of brakes, you wouldn't even be able to cover a month's insurance if you have an accident without them. Some states have installed heat sensors at the weigh stations to catch vehicles with faulty/no brakes. And atleast one state has a Mandatory brake inspection stop station for trucks/trailers. Don't remember how many trucks I saw this last trip with smoking brakes in WV and VA.

Tandem brakes are a small price to pay for the extra stopping power they provide when needed.

My guess be...that the rear tires on the tractor must be filled with liquid to cause the sag/ extra weight on the outer trailer axle.....AMPA

I just saw this today. The pickup had a DOT number on the door. He had a
FEL up in the air resting on a homemade FEL stand, over the rear of pickup. At least he is using chain a binders pulling it forward, no other method of tiedowns. He also had a bush hog sticking out the back as well. The hitch ball looks like a 5 or 7k rating maybe ? I am not sure what he hobbled together to make the chain longer in the middle.

Hey, that is my truck! Na, just kidding. I am not a JD man. Anyway according to TractorData.com that 3320 weighs 3,570# and giving 700# for the Loader and another 700# for the Cutter would put him just shy of 5,000# load. The trailer weighs about 1,300# so he is not overloaded and he does have brakes but he is obviously not distributing the weight properly. The trailer is just too short. And like you mentioned he needs a better draw bar or even just a Weight Distribution hitch.
