I expect my next older brother over later this morning to finish my taxes.

Cleaned out the woodstove and fired it up yesterday. Wife happy when she got home.

Buppies, that sounds like a rough night. Prayers sent.

Spent most of day cleaning out office...old files, and I mean old. Throwing out a lot of stuff that seemed so important at the time. Like we've said, don't want our kids to have to do it when that time comes. Saved a couple of things to give the kids that they will find amusing...old child art, old instruction manuals to their two favorite PC games, Spear of Destiny and Mech Warrior. Elaborate hand drawn sketches of planned duck and goose decoy spreads that my oldest son wanted to try when we went waterfowl hunting. Things like that. Takes forever to go through that stuff...lots with SSNs, which I try to avoid putting in the paper recycle dumpster at the dump...burn instead.

More to do today. But we need a hike real bad.

auto industry way too competitive to absorb huge retail cost increases.
the size of the auto industry in Mexico is enormous. Am waiting for some industry response, so far have heard nothing.

Looks like we will have a sunny Sunday with temps up to 77°F. It's 49°F now. Burned a small pile of brush yesterday. Perfect day for it!

Got up to low 50s today now 27 today a blur slept on hill behind building what I could hard rain lots of wind bath room in woods in rain reminds me of bear.

I hope you recover and get some needed rest. You and Mrs. are in my prayers.

Just a few things to do after church. Maybe hit Costco or HEB. Had some real good brisket yesterday. Might pick up some shrimp at Costco.

Good morning, the low is 3 and going to a high of 1+°F. Wind ESE 13 mph. Periods of snow, about 3/4" today and another tonight. The snow storm is over the UP and the fingers of Michigans mitt and coming my way. Lots of pale green and dark green, some light blue.
Might go to North Bay tomorrow, but more than likely on Tuesday.

Going to conserve energy until tomorrow, about noon I will go out and put in an appearance plowing.

Time for breakfast.

Snow cleanup was fine yesterday, about a 0.5” frozen slush left in driveway but enough tire marks and foot prints to make it passable in vehicles. No outside walking without yak trax on boots! Fit in a dump run and spent some feet up time the rest of the afternoon.

No plans for today, just energy conservation.

I keep my income tax paperwork for 7 years (exactly what the CRA) [IRS in the 'states] wants. Then it gets burned. Anything with my name and address on gets burned. The rest goes to the dump, the newspaper I don't want, but gets jammed into my mailbox once a week and the sales fliers all go to the dump. I keep telling Junior to jam it back in the outgoing letter slot, but he wont.

Good Morning from Central Texas.
About 6am, 40 degrees/39 dew point. Headed to 76 degrees - 70's to 80+ forecast all week. That may seem nice to some, but it's TOO warm for me. Was out yesterday repairing hog damage in yard area and was sweating.

The USAF B-21 Raider (Northrop Grumman) is set to replace the B-1 Lancer and B-2 Spirit bombers in the Global Strike capability. The B-21 is an open architecture designed to be more easily upgraded for future requirements.
The B-21 stealth strategic bomber estimates are mach 0.8 with a service ceiling of 50,000 feet. The 20,000 lb payload includes the JDAM family of munitions and AGM-181 LRSO (long range stand off) nuclear air launched cruise missile.

Good Morning,
Ct, 8 to start going to 30 ! Clouds moving in with an expected snow later tonite of 1-3” ! Hope it’s more like a dusting, I have to work on Monday and the in the wee hours on Tuesday morning we leave for JFK and fly south direct to Dominican Republic, Bavaro Beach for 10 days of warm weather !

Today only one service at church, 10 am , so will be getting ready shortly ! If it warms up later a bit I will go for a hike or long walk , to get out of the house ! Tomorrow is Kathleen’s birthday, I got the card already and even bought a Valentines card but I need to go out after church and get her a gift card from one of the stores she like to shop at !

Billy, curious how far you and Della go on your hiking expeditions? When I do my walk I usually only go about 3 miles but when I go for a longer hike the terrain is tougher and I will go 5 miles ! Not so much when the temps are where they are now !

Good Morning
14° with a high of 31 forecast. Clear skies, chance of snow overnight.
Yesterday didn’t get much accomplished, the usual clean out the fire place and get it ready for the next fire, nice lunch with a friend, grandson came to visit along with his parents, spent some time in front of the computer, and some watching YouTube.
I enjoy FabRats, Diesel Creek, Inheritance Machining and Matt’s Off Road Recovery in addition to random informational videos, where there is about a 50/50 split between good and bad advice.

Have to move Hay this morning, invited youngest son to help, offered to make pancakes or waffles as a bribe, haven’t heard back yet.
I “have” to play music this afternoon at 1, should be home for dinner and feet up in front of a fire.
New propane tank is coming tomorrow morning at 8:30, thankfully the ground will still be frozen, so no mess.

I've been lengthening Della's hike as she has gotten older. Her longest so far is 8+ climbing a mountain, but usually at the river we do 4-5 since it has limited trails.

My longest one-day recently is 16 when I was completing a section of the AT called the Rollercoaster in Northwestern Virginia...that really wore me out. It seems like the longer I have to drive to get to a trailhead, the longer I'm willing to hike. I've been doing one or two nights on the trail as I've gotten way down in Buppies part of the world.
