Good morning TBN!!
45 this morning and more rain coming this afternoon and evening. Never made it out of the 40s yesterday and same today.
Didn't get in to much yesterday.
Puttered around the garage for most of the day. Mail came a little early with my starter so I got it mounted but nothing else. Didn't crank so I'll need to track one of the test leads that probably came loose. I did check at solenoid to see and it cranked and almost started so I know the starter is good.
Still cleaning and rearranging for Sat extravaganza. Wife came home with a large NY strip (my fav).
Price tag had conveniently fallen off. Pressed her on it later. She said on sale for $12.98 lb. And meat man gave her another $1 off per pound. Total of $170 dollars. Gonna put a couple of them in the freezer and feed about a dozen people. And that is just the meat. Bridge is still getting expensive. LOL
Will probably get some more of that done and get my firelegs out to make sure all is good. I know the sidelegs are good but haven't fire the longlegs for a while. Adapting to the allowed language. LOL

Time for a second cup.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

My goodness. One of you yanks left the back door open or something. It's COLD down here! ⛄ We're not ready for this yet.

Time to get your parka out of storage. Me, I would be getting out my short sleeve T shirt and shorts.

Good morning TBN folks! A foggy, wet 35 this am and a high of 51 is predicted here today. We do have some modest rain moving in here over the weekend. I ran around town yesterday getting items associated with camp. We are meeting a snow plow guy and the neighbor who lives one mile down the road. Turns out, dearest work mate is the sister so I contacted him, and he gave us the contact # who does the snow for them down there... Small world.....

Sticky solenoid. Depending on how entertaining versus annoying you find an Irish accent, this may be your best evening viewing:

Woof. Sounds like it's narrated by Mrs Doubtfire. I'll have to watch that one with the sound off. Been a few years since I had a starter apart, but memory will refresh.

Morning all, 48 going to 57 and cloudy, supposed to start raining tonight.
Leaves everywhere , including in the runoff for the driveway, so took out the little wonder and cleared the shared road , driveway and neighbors driveway.
Need to fix the little wonder side door as it keeps moving, I think it needs a new washer so should be a cheap fix.

Be well,

We all have our own perversions and peculiarities. I find the Irish accent about the sexiest thing in the world, on an even mildly attractive woman. Less so on a man, obviously, but I hear women claim to like it. :ROFLMAO:

I could listen to Sheena Easton all day years ago. (She's Scottish tho I think, but similar.) Maureen O'Hara also.

that cat on the video, not so much.

Warmer: 60F, clear, sunny, high forecast to be in the mid 70s. 10-15 degrees warmer that it has been for the last week.

The feral pigs are out of control this year. Several fence boards knocked off, lots of rooting around, just generally trashing things. I'm hoping to find someone who wants free pork.

Today is planned to be fun and games with the solar/battery technician. We had an extended internet outage awhile back due to our Starlink hardware going down, and the battery controller seems to have gotten upset that it couldn't talk to mom. As far as I can tell, it appears to be missing much of its configuration, but I guess we will find out.

Yesterday, the replacement door arrived for the toter. The crate is a work of art, and as far as I can tell seems to have protected the door beautifully. Any free time today will be liberating the door and figuring out how involved the replacement is. I've heard rumors of a 3M adhesive sealant that needs to be chiseled or ground off. "Basically welded" was the phrase that caught my attention. That was not used on the window frame, causing the door failure. I am hoping it is an "in frame" replacement job.

We had a slug of smoke come through two weeks ago, and I'm still not over it. Yesterday, I watched a video my doc had recommended on the underlying issues/causes yesterday that was quite informative, but pretty depressing. Over the years, I've learned that you don't really want your doctor commenting "that's interesting..." or "this would be a fruitful area for research...".

Bought some Q-tips brand cotton swabs a week ago, and noticed that the stem is now much softer/weaker, and that the Q-Tips are no longer made by Unilever. Annoying that the product is worse.

Moving on. Morning tea still tastes great. (But had already given up on my favorite Unilever brand a few years ago when that brand got sold to some private equity group who promptly blended the flavor out of it. Is there a pattern here?)

@daugen I think with the economy being what it is, I don't see RV prices recovering for quite a while.

All the best,

Peter

that is by design. Some people nowadays don't know to stop when resistance is felt, so they design it to yield.

Interesting thought. A bit less useful for cleaning inanimate objects, but I will run with that thought. (But not with a Q-tip in the use not talked about...) Still, kind of funny that the design change lined up with the asset sale.

All the best,

Peter

Good Morning
40° and grey with a high in the middle 50’s at best. Rain coming in overnight and tomorrow.

Yesterday covered a bit of ground, breakfast with the professor was good, still haven’t made any headway on the world’s problems though.

I got the brackets welded up for my friend, for a moment it seemed like it was race to see if I would get done before running out of Argon, but I made it with a couple hundred PSI left in the bottle.

After that it was a Costco run, daughter met us there to avail herself of our membership, wife and daughter left together to get the wife a new iPhone and watch.

Next task was some electrical work to humor a home inspector for a friend that is selling a house.

Never made it back to the hangar to work on the little plane, but when I got home, daughter was still there, along with youngest son and DIL, and my grandson. So I had a relaxing dinner and put my feet up in front of the fire. Oldest son came to collect the grandson after a bit, so it was a nice impromptu family get together.

I think the first thing for today is to take the carryall down to the woodshed and bring up a load of firewood for the upcoming inclement weather. I do like sitting in front of an open fire when it’s cold or nasty outside. As I said before, not efficient, but comfy nonetheless.

I got pork shoulders at Costco, I plan to smoke them on Friday after the rain is through here. Not sure what else I will get into, but I’m sure that I won’t be bored.

Morning all;
Nice morning today warmed up to 32F already, heading to the mid 50's. Then a bunch of rain tomorrow and similar temperatures for the next 10 days or so.
Waiting for my fuel oil delivery today, about 900 gallons, thats going to bite a bit writing that check out, around $2800.
Did some electrical work yesterday running a circuit up through the base of the fireplace for the propane insert that we got informed wouldn't be installed untill the middle of next month :( .
Been puttering with my winter sand pile, prepping for winter.

All stay safe and healthy

some pretty work there, wish I was closer so I could watch and learn... welding still on my bucket list.

I have a friend who is a stone mason, keep meaning to get a price to build me a chimney. I have the foundation and hearth already in place, and header in wall to build the fireplace under.. I have pellet stove in front of where it goes. Not a winter project.

Also still want to get me a smoker sometime...
