Been good day...cut stack way too much kindling for the basement according to Mrs.
Took backpack blower on nice afternoon hike,if all goes well leave control roadside and l o n g ditch line.
Exiting the shed Little Boo was heading to lilac tree to lay down dragging looks like large expensive white towel neighbor better use less fabric softer.

Plans for the evening...Can smell dinner maybe little desert later on hold the recline down from moving watch little football to pillow time.

Started putting my trailer project back together today. Thought I'd get as far as milling the new white oak decking for the floor, but sadly only got the lights and wiring re-installed, wheels installed, and the trailer back on the ground, in between having to run kids to/from their activities.

I picked up a Mini Cooper S for our 16 year old, because it was one of the few options I could find in manual transmission, and I'm one of those stubborn folks that think all people should own and learn to drive manual once in their lives. I've been zooming around in that thing, and have to admit I haven't had so much fun in anything with so little horsepower, since I was a teenager!



Now my wife and I are jockeying to see who gets to drive it more, when our daily drivers each cost literally 3x what I paid for this little turd.

Good evening all. 60ºF for the start, mostly clear sky, light breeze. Myrtle Beach, moderate wind, clear sky, and high temp was 75ºF. Made coffee to start day, drive to airport, three flights to get to Myrtle Beach, all went smooth. Tired heading for bed.

Coffee is brewing. 37° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 43° with gusty winds to 40 mph. Yesterday turned into bird feeder repair and cleanup. Then refilled with bird seed. Helped neighbor cut back all their gardens. Then hauling all the trimmings to compost pile. Oldest sun came for a few days visit. So not sure we will get into.
Cardinals are not cooperating with good photos. They come at first light in morning. Very Low light for good clear photos.

Ken, your lights look nice. I was surprised how many houses had Christmas lights already on my drive home last night. Plus, the Caterpillar dealer has decorated a huge tree with lights along the interstate.

Scotty, one guy several miles from us decorated his ham radio tower with lights to make it look like a peppermint stick.

But, she hasn’t ruled out putting up a tower on the Vermont property. I just salivate at the thought of a 50 or 60ft tower where we are located in Vermont, 1200 ft above sea level

Good morning tbn folks! A balmy and breezy 36 this morning with a brisk wind blowing out of the NW, blowing enough the lake boats are hugging the north shore. We stayed home for the weekend, as opposed to going to camp. Still trying to chop up the yard leaves with the ego mower but little rains keep passing through here. Worked on the trailer flooring yesterday, got the mutts out for 3+ mile hike plus many other fall house jobs done.. Will get dearests Bronco snow wheels put on Monday AND get a oil change. She does like that suv. Nothing exciting to report from here.

walked Cody, made coffee, no reason to fire up this morning

Checked some more on the post vise. There is clearance to lower the vise in the yoke but with a slight taper the yoke will need to be opened up and that will require it to be heated up in the coal fired forge and worked on the anvil. It need to go down about an inch for the leg of the vise to sit on the floor.

I think I will skip that and just shim up the leg on the floor with metal plates and level the vise and hammer in the wedge and call it a day

Temperature will be in a decline all day, lower 40’s by dinner time.

Yesterday started out cleaning up in the shop, then morphed into building the blower mount for the Lazer.

It bolts on in place of the anti-scalp wheels in the front of the deck, and the chain drops in the keyhole to hold it in place. The platform isn’t welded in place yet, it will have to move forward for clearance for the castors. But I think it will work well after I sort out some details.

Not sure if I’ll get back to that today, going to the oddfellows lodge for a work party to deal with some needed maintenance, then I’ve got to get to the hangar and the little plane.
And that assumes that nothing else will pop up.

this Wednesday morning I expect to be picked up at rv campground by stepbrother and taken back to Aldie VA, not far North of there,
to have coffee and a muffin with him before my brother comes and picks me up.
Stepbrother has lived on Oak Hill Farm in Aldie more than 20 years as a caretaker and trusted friend
place just got sold for 20M to conservation group, I think will make a park out of it. He is not sure how much longer he can stay there but
seems to be no rush. I'll find out I'm sure.

Scott would love to see stepbrother's garage, five Model As including a gorgeous wood panel truck. He has had model A club meetings on this
beautiful farm, quite the setting. Will be selling them as he is aging out, reality of many old car owners

as two mocking birds courted on my front driveway. If you zoom in, you can see them on top of each of the facing bushes.
They checked each out for a while, and then landed in the driveway and danced.
