Didn't look when I first got up, but judging by how much I sweated just picking a few peppers and giving the melons, cantaloupes and cukes a shot of blue juice, it was hot and humid. It is overcast, 78 with 90% humidity now. Forecast high is 78 with 60% chance of rain. There was a dark cloud to the west when I first went out, but it had lightened up by the time I came in. It will be a short day at work today. Don't have to go in until noon, and I should be home in plenty of time to watch the race from the DVR.
Jinman, most of the poppers are plenty mild. But once in a while you will bite into one that will fire you up. It is the surprise that gets you. Sometimes she uses sausage instead of bacon. It is a good change of pace. As it turned out, she just got all her stuff mixed up last night, and is doing the poppers right now. She puts them in the freezer for a few minutes after they are filled. Then dips them in milk, flour and bread crumbs. Back in the freezer for a few more minutes. This keeps the filling from running when you cook them. They can be fried or baked.
