I would support a bill to get away from Daylight Savings Time. If we were on Daylight Savings Time year around.

There was a Texas poll on the internet and the choices were to keep DST or not to keep it. The majority of the people want to keep it and make it year round. Why can't everyone just go to work an hour earlier and leave us retired people alone.

Rob, I love your bike; it is seriously radical.
home safe and sound, much nicer trip coming down the Delmarva Peninsula and through the Tunnel into Portsmouth.
75 here now, supposed to be 80 tomorrow with rain coming in.
I hope to find some more daffodils up.

just got a call from the shipping company that likely in tomorrow's rain they will be delivering my Quincy air compressor for the barn workshop.
I will be ready with the tractor and forks. Am hoping I can get that put away before the ground gets soggy again.
Those R4 front tires really print my wet lawn, forcing me into a circuitous route over high ground and of course NOT over the septic system.

My first priority tomorrow actually is hopefully getting the rest of the fruit trees planted.

time to get something going in the kitchen. Didn't eat much on the road; had been well fed all weekend.

Long day today. Delivery of appliances for my sister's place. Impressed with how they muscled them up the stairs. Tough job, one guy from Macedonia, and one black kid from Detroit. Both hard workers, got the job done quickly.

Made it to 50F today, there's hope. 32 tonight. Still ~2' of snow cover, no grass, crocus or daffodils in sight.

I'm the proud owner of a new Ford plastic radiator and a $295.06 2016 registration sticker for the Dodge 1-ton. The hits just keep on coming as they used to say on the radio. :p

To be young and strong one again....how I wish!!! Love this warming spell so I can get outside and do things...installed six new 48" shoplights in the garage today...the originals dated back to 1990. Lights Of America brand, they cost me about $6 each without bulbs back then, replaced them with something from Menards, they cost me $14.99 each and I get a $5 store coupon credit on each one...meaning 25 years later a comparable shoplight only costs $4 more...and the new ones are brighter, more ridgid, and work better in low temperatures. Go figger !!!

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but FWIW, Consumer Reports just published its annual auto issue (April 2015) and Jeep was ranked the second least reliable brand out of the 28 reviewed. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara earned a road test score of 20, lowest of the 270 tested. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (diesel) was second highest for Midsized SUV fuel economy (24MPG), but the Jeep Cherokee Limited (V6) and Jeep Patriot Latitude were the worst Small SUVs at 21MPG. The best rated Jeep was the Cherokee Limited (V6) which came in mid pack in the Small SUV category; all the other Jeeps (Wrangler, Latitude) were ranked dead last.

I'm happy with my '00 Ford F250 7.3 Diesel, but if I was looking for something smaller, I don't think it would be a Jeep...

I think in the small-mid size SUVs, a Honda CR-V is going to be hard to beat for reliability.

I would expect a Wrangler to be a Jeep--noisy, low mpg's and bouncy. They get knocked for those things in many reviews. I had a 2000 Wrangler for 3-4 years. Fun to drive around in but not always very practical. Reliability is another issue though.

I'll have to look for that CR issue at the grocery store. Thanks.

I just got that issue of CR, made me very sad to read of the poor ratings Jeep products received. The least reliable brand was Fiat. Chevrolet as a brand rated 19th, we love our Equinox as it been dead reliable. GMC was #14, Buick #7, Cadillac #20.

Consumer Reports is about as reliable as my weatherman.

There was some discussion in a thread last year about the reliability of CR ratings. I dunno. Ratings are a business obviously. Everyone is rating things. Some of it is just click bait, but who knows how on the up and up the ones are that appear to be seriously trying to compare products. I read them with a grain of salt and they often vary from the actual experience of people I know.

Personal experience that gets shared is very useful compared to a rating system that weights various qualities differently than I would or may care about.

I mostly enjoy reading CR reports and tests, but often wonder about their conclusions and recommendations.

66 degrees going up to 79 today, in increasing clouds, then perhaps thunderstorms late today.

going to lay out my berry garden today, time to get the red raspberries, black raspberries, blackberries and blueberries planted. And I guess I'll have to get some netting, caused my own problem attracting so many birds with my birdfeeders already.
The berry garden would be just one more feeding station...

But....netting can be such a pain. Need to make a framing structure for it that is reasonably transparent and keeps it out of the way. An anti aviary... well I've got plenty of time to find the right corner and side poles.
Would like something attractive and non intrusive. Bamboo? Ground is often wet so that would rot sooner vs later.
Will likely default to whatever Lowes has...
anyone a netting pro?

and how do I let the lovely butterflies in and keep the pesky bluebirds out?
Butterfly Easypass?

pic of the Bay Bridge Tunnel, always an amazing thing to drive on and under.

34F now high 48F :)
Rest of the ice should melt today in the driveway :) :) :)
Guess I better put the shoes back on plow this evening before that nasty storm arrives or I will be doing extra raking.

Enjoy the day all.

45 out this AM. I need a serious dry spell. Heck just walking from the house to the garage is squishy. I still have logs to put away and a pine tree to cut up. Now that all the snow is gone, well 95 percent of it, I can see my yard is a mess.

Have a great day all!
