One or two worthless scumbags can trash up a road in no time flat. We used to have a fast-food bag, drink cup, and sometimes a plastic bag used for litter thrown out on our road. One day I opened a trash bag to see if I could find an identifying envelope with address. I not only found the envelope, but also a used EPT kit. The person was the daughter of a family regularly know for trashing up the neighborhood. I told my wife that I should put up a big sign by the road that said, "Hey -her name-, I found your lost EPT kit and I think it says you are pregnant." My wife convinced me that the family's retaliation might be more than it was worth to embarrass them. A few weeks later, she put her brand new Mustang in the ditch beside the road and messed it up pretty good. I figured that karma had served it's justice.

I went to elementary school with a kid who picked up "snipes" along the roadway on his way home from school. He gave a bag full to his mother who removed the remaining tobacco and then used papers to roll her own. Of course, today, anyone who sent their kid out to go sniping might be arrested. . . as well they should.

I got ice everywhere. Fire is warm, animals are in.

As far as trash, especially the beer cans and bottles, I have often thought of placing a great big sign in the field, stating something like -

"Your sharing the road with people who have consumed xxx amounts of alcohol this week".

And leaving the trash bag under it.

Course, around here, someone would probably stop and shoot at it, or my outbuildings. Maybe even me.

He is still unidentified. I think that is why hunting never appealed to me. I'm not patient enough to sit out watching for hours on end.

Same here riptides the sign would be full of bullet holes. - Kind of like my "No Hunting" signs.:confused3:
