Drinking second cup of coffee. 58° with rain this morning. Heading to 60° with rain and drizzle all day. Christmas was great yesterday. Got to talk to all the family. Wife wants some discounted Christmas decoration. Off to a couple of stores this morning.

pick up some rear tires for my 1/2 scale replica of a JD H tractor I'm building.
what a hoot, great project. And as someone who grew up with a JD B, that kinda looks familiar.
when you get the new tires on, more pics please...
now how are you going to recreate the pucka pucka?...

yes, that would do nicely. Might shake a bit too much, and it's front to back, not side to side...
Now a BMW opposed twin would keep the engine spirit alive...

Not a V though and sounds nothing like the old JD motor, but the horsepower would be there.

I see this one has the same tricycle gear I grew up with, and the first thing I thought of next was
those rear tires needed to go out to the end of the shafts to get better stability, but I bet the new tires going on will do that.
I don't think anything with tricycle gear should go too fast anyway.
Sure is fun spending someone else's money. How about a purpose built AMG motor, built from scratch to replicate the
old format but with modern efficiencies. Very low rpm, 20 hp tops, even ten would likely be fine. And even if they have to synthesize it,
recreate the pucka pucka. Low rpm, low gearing and not much muffler should be a good start...
anything with a motor fascinates me, probably always will.
ok, enough motorhead stuff for the rest of you. Though we are talking about tractors so we get some poetic license to ramble here I think....:anyone:
