Good morning!!!!

Good morning, the low is 37 and it is going to 48°F. Wind S 11 mph.
Mostly cloudy.

When I got up this morning the temp inside was 77°F. Lots of large coals in the stove, to the point that I didn't need to restart the fire. Just throw in more wood.

When I got home in early October there were enough flies in this place, I swear I was in a horse barn except no horsey smell. Junior was leaving the windows open ALL day long. I put a stop to that and hung those fly paper strips up. That got rid of some, but not all. Also put up a couple of traps baited with maple syrup. I can't use chemical warfare on them because of the cats and dog. We have a 50# bag of D-earth and set up a couple of dishes of that with MS for bait. The population was going down slowly, then I found a recipe on the net that uses a half cup of water + a half cup of isopropanol alcohol (rubbing alcohol) + a tablespoon of cheap dish soap (I use Dawn). Put the water and alcohol into a spray bottle and put the soap in last. You see flies, give them a squirt of that mixture and they don't die on contact, but they die soon after.
I also have a food grade electric bug zapper in the kitchen, near the kitchen window and an outdoor zapper in the livingroom. They both run 24/7/365. If anyone knows of another fly eradicating system that works and is pet friendly and cheap, I am all ears.

I've got nothing to do today except chase flies,so I might as well 'medicate' my knee.

Have a safe day all
I am a big fan of the disposable fly traps that you just add water, there is a bit of odor to them but you shouldn’t need them in operation all that long — if I had that bad of a fly issue I would put up with it for three-four days to eliminate the problem. I use them around our chicken coop&run and they work great, I order them online but our local TS has them on the shelves

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

42F going to upper 50s, cloudy but dry day forecasted. Temperature sensor at county airport is non functioning again, have to call and annoy them again…

Harry had his orchiectomy yesterday, survived it reasonably well, we knew when the last of the anaesthetic wore off because he tried to take off the dressing for the Iv site… he hates his paws being touched, and of course he slid the wrap down on his paw, and was basically a bucking bronco in the living room —- and of course the more you try to help get it off, the more you have to grab his paw, which became a little recursive problem… we had to double-team him and finallyni just slid it over his paw and with a yelp it was over. ”Yea, Doctor, we definitely want that prescription for Tramazone… but can we get one for Thorazine? Well, if not for Harry, then for US????

So we will be sticking close to home for the next ten days, as he can only go out on leash walks as per doctor’s orders…

So today I will take advantage of being home bound by doing a bit of outdoor cleanup, and load more of the logs we got a couple weeks bag into the pickup to go to the woodlot for milling and reclaim some real estate in the driveway. Mrs wil be happy that it will look nicer, too.

then I have to figure out dinner, I think I will mix up the last of the ground beef we bought the other day with some loose Italian sausage and make Pattie’s, then count round from a head of cabbage, place the Pattie’s on those, and bake them on a sheet pan. Try something new, right?

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!

29 outside this AM, heading to 61.

Need to go get my sinks today. Still looking for fixtures.

Hope all are doing well. Half way through the month, already.

Nice pics all around this AM.
May I heartily recommend high gooseneck spouts and big paddle handles? Not necessarily the most attractive, but definitely most practical and user-friendly — when the original Deltas die in the bathrooms that is what I will be installing!!!

Good Morning.
Its 26 outside this morning, supposed to break 50, another day of clear blue sky.

Yesterday’s breakfast with the professor was good, we solved most of the worlds problems, or at least our take on them
Lease meeting went well, I look forward to it being signed, but it kept me busy until lunchtime.

After lunch got the loader on the tractor, dump trailer on the truck and moved a bin full of alpaca gold to my neighbors farm, where it will help grow next years crop of pumpkins.

Pressure washed the tractor and loader before putting it away, washed the Lazer while the pressure washer was out. Drained all the hoses and put it back in the shop, went home and made a hot dog and baked bean casserole, put my feet up and called it a day.

This morning I’m off to Martha’s Vineyard again, this should be my last trip until we’ll past Thanksgiving. Probably make a Home Depot run when I get back.

Mostly, I’m very sorry for your loss.

Wife had a boarder collie corgie mix that was terrified of having his feet handled. For 14 yrs it was a trauma to trim his nails. Never understood that.

47 going to 69 with rain predicted by noon. Preparations made yesterday included moving a bunch of gravel back up the terraced steps of the dog pen away from the door and yard drain on the downhill end.
Pea gravel makes a great dog run surface. Keeps their feet clean when it rains and easy enough to clean poop up with a manure rake.
Got a letter from the disposal company. Said there would be a contamination fee of $93 added to my monthly recycle bill. The idiot driver picked up the wrong dumpster and the truck took a picture of my trash bin. I saw it happen and jumped in the golf cart to go see him. He said he couldn't tell the difference with his sun glasses on. Really? One's green other is white. Clear as day! Anyway I called the company and got the charge removed after they reviewed the video.
Every business is required to have a trash bin and a recycle bin here.
I hope you all have a great day.

27° and sunny.
Wngsprd, wondered if you was hiking AT when I came up thru Roanoke Monday night. We stopped for supper near the lot, near where trail crosses. We stopped at lot Friday on way down to TN and swapped memory cards on camera.
Had good, but short visit with oldest son. Met his latest girlfriend, she was nice.
Today I go find out price for oral surgery. Haven’t had any more tooth problems, I’m wondering why remove it just yet.
Our recycling guys ripped wheels off the can again. Need to get it replaced.
And got notice my trash company sold their business. Hated to see that, best deal I could find, they took whatever I set out. New company will supply a can. Pickup day changes.
Prayers for Mostly. Been thinking about you.
